The Tech Index is JobYap's selected list of technology companies, the ones whose hiring we track from the source. A name is added only when we start tracking its official careers site: after we have judged that the company belongs in a serious picture of tech hiring, and that we can follow its openings continuously, not through a job board.

We look for companies that build, run, or fund technology at a meaningful scale: software and AI, chips and infrastructure, markets, vehicles, and the tools around them. There is no application and no fee. Placement is not for sale, and the list is not a ranking. Order is the day we began tracking each company. New names join at the top.

Questions about the Tech Index

What is the JobYap Tech Index?

The JobYap Tech Index is a selected list of technology companies whose hiring JobYap tracks from each company's official careers site. It is not a ranking of the best companies, and placement is not for sale.

What companies does JobYap track?

JobYap tracks 287 technology companies on the Tech Index, from software and AI to chips, infrastructure, markets, and vehicles. Every name on this page is a company whose official careers site we follow.

How many tech companies are on the JobYap Tech Index?

The JobYap Tech Index currently lists 287 technology companies. The count grows when we start tracking a new careers site.

Is JobYap a job board?

JobYap is a job board that lists openings taken from company careers sites and attaches a public discussion thread to every posting. The Tech Index is the list of companies those listings come from.

Where does JobYap get its job listings?

JobYap reads each company's official careers site and keeps the feed in step as postings appear and disappear. Listings are not bought from recruiters or copied from LinkedIn, Indeed, or other job boards.

Does JobYap take jobs from LinkedIn or Indeed?

No. JobYap does not take listings from LinkedIn, Indeed, or other job boards. Every opening on JobYap comes from a company careers site we have chosen to track.

Are JobYap job listings official?

Yes. Each listing is taken from the company's own careers site, the same source a candidate would use to apply. When a posting leaves that site, JobYap marks it closed.

How does a company get added to the Tech Index?

JobYap adds a company when we start tracking its official careers site, after deciding it belongs in a serious picture of tech hiring. There is no application form and no fee.

Can my company apply to be listed on JobYap?

No. Companies do not apply and cannot pay to join the Tech Index. JobYap chooses which careers sites to track.

Does JobYap charge companies to be listed?

No. Placement on the JobYap Tech Index is not for sale. Nobody pays to be added, ranked, or featured.

Is the JobYap Tech Index a ranking?

No. The Tech Index is not a ranking of prestige, valuation, or hiring volume. It is ordered by the day JobYap began tracking each company, latest first.

How is the Tech Index ordered?

Latest first: the day JobYap began tracking that company, the same date as “tracked since” on the company page. New names join at the top.

What kinds of companies are on the Tech Index?

Companies that build, run, or fund technology at a meaningful scale: software and AI, semiconductors and infrastructure, markets, vehicles, and the tools around them. Consumer apps, labs, exchanges, and manufacturers all appear if we track their careers site.

Does the Tech Index include startups and large tech companies?

Yes. The JobYap Tech Index includes both well-known firms and smaller companies, as long as we have chosen to track the official careers site and can follow its openings continuously.

Are all tech companies on the JobYap Tech Index?

No. The Tech Index is selected, not exhaustive. A company is listed only after JobYap starts tracking its careers site. Absence from the list does not mean a company is not hiring.

Why is a company missing from the Tech Index?

JobYap has not started tracking that careers site yet, or we have judged it outside the index. Missing from the list is not a judgment of the company as an employer.

What does “tracked since” mean on JobYap?

“Tracked since” is the day JobYap first ingested a posting from that company. It is the inclusion date used to order the Tech Index, not the company’s founding date and not the day a given job was published.

Which company did JobYap start tracking first?

OpenAI is the earliest name on the JobYap Tech Index, the first company we began tracking.

What is the newest company on the JobYap Tech Index?

Bloomberg is the latest addition to the JobYap Tech Index, the most recent company we began tracking.

How do I find jobs at companies on the Tech Index?

Open a company name for its hiring page, or follow the open-jobs count into the JobYap feed filtered to that company. You can also search the live feed by title, location, and work mode.

How do I see open jobs for a company JobYap tracks?

Each Tech Index row links the company name to its JobYap company page and the openings count to a filtered job feed. Company pages also show hiring trends, salaries when published, and locations.

Can I filter JobYap jobs by company?

Yes. The job feed accepts company filters, and each Tech Index openings count opens the feed already filtered to that company.

Does JobYap have remote tech jobs?

Yes. When a company advertises a role as remote or hybrid, JobYap keeps that on the listing. Use the feed’s work-mode filter, or open a company page to see how many of its roles are remote.

How often does JobYap update job listings?

JobYap tracks each Tech Index careers site on an ongoing basis. New postings appear as we crawl; jobs that leave the careers site are marked closed. The openings counts on this page are live.

Is the JobYap Tech Index free?

Yes. Anyone can browse the Tech Index, company pages, and the job feed without an account. Signing in is only needed to save jobs or join a discussion.

Does every JobYap job have comments?

Yes. Every posting on JobYap is a discussion thread. Comments stay on the job page even after the listing closes.

How is JobYap different from LinkedIn Jobs?

JobYap lists openings taken directly from company careers sites, not recruiter posts or job-board copies, and every listing has a public comment thread. The Tech Index is the catalog of companies we track that way.

How do I apply for a job at a Tech Index company?

Open the job on JobYap to read the description and discussion, then use the apply link. That link goes to the company’s own application, not a JobYap form.

Order is the day we began tracking each company, the same date as “tracked since” on the company page. Open and removed counts update as we crawl.
