Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) is seeking a Manager to serve as a subject matter expert supporting card portfolio optimization across the Latin America and Caribbean region. This role will contribute to the development and enhancement of portfolio optimization capabilities by helping shape data and AI-enabled solutions, supporting regional collaboration, and driving execution across markets.
The Manager will work closely with regional and market teams, Visa cross-functional partners, and VCA leadership to connect Visa capabilities, VCA services, industry knowledge, and client needs into practical, scalable solutions. The role supports the development, implementation, and adoption of portfolio optimization methodologies and solutions across the region, helping teams apply established approaches and drive business impact through effective execution.
The successful candidate will bring strong experience in payments, card portfolio management, analytics, consulting, project management, and business transformation, with the ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and limited supervision, manage multiple priorities, and combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a portfolio optimization subject matter expert, providing guidance on portfolio growth, lifecycle management, performance improvement, and client impact opportunities.
- Contribute to the development and continuous enhancement of portfolio optimization methodologies, business rules, recommendation frameworks, delivery guidelines, and reusable assets.
- Support the design and evolution of data and AI-enabled solutions by translating business needs into business requirements, evaluating use cases, and helping define outputs and implementation considerations.
- Develop and maintain frameworks, playbooks, templates, tools, and other assets that enable scalable portfolio optimization delivery across markets.
- Partner with regional, market and global teams to identify opportunities, share market insights, capture lessons learned, and promote effective portfolio optimization approaches.
- Support Visa and VCA strategic priorities by connecting VCA services, Visa capabilities, industry expertise, and client needs into actionable portfolio optimization recommendations.
- Lead project workstreams by managing activities, coordinating stakeholders, identifying risks and dependencies, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality outputs.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to assess portfolio performance, identify opportunities, develop recommendations, and measure business impact.
- Develop client-ready and executive-ready presentations, business cases, analytical insights, and recommendations that support decision-making and client engagements.
- Support the implementation and adoption of portfolio optimization methodologies, tools, solutions, and best practices by partnering with market teams and stakeholders throughout execution.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance solution effectiveness, and increase the scalability and impact of portfolio optimization offerings across the region.
- Independently manage projects and deliverables from problem definition through execution, exercising sound judgment and operating effectively in ambiguous situations with limited oversight.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
- 8+ years of relevant experience in payments, financial services, consulting, card portfolio management, analytics, strategy, business transformation, or related fields.
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a quantitative, analytical, or business-related field such as engineering, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, science, or business administration; advanced degree preferred.
- Strong knowledge of banking operations, payment schemes, and card portfolio management, including products and services, business systems, processes, marketing initiatives, and performance levers.
- Proven experience using financial and business performance indicators to assess portfolio health, measure impact, identify opportunities, and support data-driven recommendations.
- Experience leading projects or workstreams related to card portfolio optimization, project management, operational efficiency, and analytics, preferably within payments, banking, financial services, or consulting.
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and drive results in a matrixed environment without direct authority.
- Demonstrated ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and limited supervision, exercising sound judgment, managing ambiguity, and independently driving initiatives from problem definition through execution.
- Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual rigor and ability to translate complex business challenges into practical recommendations.
- High level of ownership and results orientation, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, operate independently, and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management and partnership-building skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders, market teams, clients, and cross-functional partners.
- Strong communication, storytelling, and executive presentation skills, including the ability to simplify complex topics and tailor messages to different audiences.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively across geographies, functions, and levels of seniority.
- Strong technology and digital mindset, with curiosity and practical understanding of digital trends, AI applications, analytics tools, and emerging technologies.
- Working knowledge of data visualization and business intelligence tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms. Fluency in English required, along with professional proficiency in either Spanish or Portuguese.
