Job Description
Overview:
Visa is searching for a Vice President, Strategic Marketing Advisory, Global Marketing Services, to build and scale a differentiated global marketing advisory practice. This leader will establish Marketing Services as a trusted, retained marketing partner to clients, elevating Visa's role beyond episodic campaign support to sustained C-suite counsel and enterprise-level marketing transformation. The role will define the advisory portfolio across brand, growth, experiential and transformation strategy; create scalable methodologies and commercial models; and enable regions to consistently sell and deliver high-value engagements. As a senior member of the Global Marketing Services leadership team, this leader will partner closely with regional Marketing Services teams, Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA), Product, Data, Sales and Finance. The ideal candidate combines deep functional marketing expertise, consulting practice leadership, commercial judgment and the executive presence to advise CMOs through complex growth and transformation priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define the vision, strategy and multi-year roadmap for a differentiated Strategic Marketing Advisory practice aligned with Marketing Services’ future growth ambition.
- Build and own the end-to-end marketing advisory portfolio, expanding beyond campaign strategy into brand, growth, customer, product marketing, experiential and marketing transformation advisory.
- Develop scalable frameworks, methodologies, diagnostic tools, playbooks, engagement models and quality standards that enable regions to sell and deliver high-value advisory work consistently.
- Create the commercial model and go-to-market approach for marketing advisory services, including opportunity qualification, solutioning, pricing principles, delivery models and pathways from project-based work to retained or embedded client relationships.
- Drive global commercialization with regional Marketing Services and Sales leaders to build pipeline, improve win rates and grow recurring, high-value marketing advisory revenue.
- Lead senior client engagements where deep functional marketing expertise and executive counsel are required, advising CMOs and senior marketing leaders on growth, brand, and transformation priorities.
- Partner closely with Visa Consulting & Analytics, Product and Data teams to combine complementary capabilities to bring the best of Visa to our clients.
- Shape and support complex, cross-market opportunities, large pitches and RFPs, bringing together the strongest capabilities across Visa and articulating a compelling, integrated value proposition.
- Establish a consistent global operating model, governance and quality assurance approach that aligns Global, Regional and Market teams while allowing appropriate adaptation to client and market context.
- Develop intellectual capital, proprietary points of view, and executive thought leadership that strengthen Visa's credibility as a strategic marketing partner.
- Define talent, capability and resourcing requirements and build a senior advisory bench across card product marketing, lifecycle and performance marketing, brand and growth strategy, experiential, marketing transformation, AI and commercial solutions.
- Establish performance measures and operating cadences to track pipeline, revenue, client outcomes, quality, adoption and conversion to longer-term advisory relationships.
- Build a collaborative, client-first culture that combines strategic rigor with pragmatic execution and measurable business outcomes.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 12 or more years of work experience with a bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 8 years of work experience with a PhD.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 15 or more years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, PhD).
- Senior leadership experience in a global, multi-region environment, with demonstrated success leading through a complex matrix.
- Significant client-facing experience, including advising C-suite and other senior executives and leading complex, multi-stakeholder engagements.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing,
- Business or a related field desired; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
- Demonstrated success building or scaling an advisory or consulting practice, including proposition design, business development, commercial model development, and delivery leadership.
- Deep functional marketing expertise and the ability to connect brand, growth, customer, product, experiential and transformation agendas into integrated client solutions.
- Established executive presence, with experience advising CMOs and other senior leaders through ambiguous, high-stakes growth and transformation decisions.
- Proven track record creating scalable advisory methodologies, frameworks, playbooks and delivery models that can be adopted across teams and markets.
- Strong commercial judgment, with experience shaping complex opportunities, leading pitches or RFPs, developing pipeline and converting project work into broader or retained relationships.
- Strong understanding of contemporary marketing capabilities, including performance marketing, lifecycle marketing, data, technology, measurement, and AI-enabled transformation.
- Experience partnering across adjacent consulting, data, product and technology capabilities, with the ability to clarify roles and build integrated solutions without duplication.
- Strong financial and analytical acumen, including the ability to assess opportunity value, prioritize investments and manage against revenue, pipeline, and profitability objectives.
- Ability to operate effectively in a global matrix, align diverse stakeholders and influence senior leaders across functions, regions and markets.
- Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex issues into clear executive recommendations and compelling points of view.
- Strong talent leader who can attract, develop and deploy senior specialists while creating a cohesive global marketing advisory community.
- Client-first, solutions-oriented, and pragmatic, with a bias toward measurable business outcomes and long-term partnerships.
- Deep understanding of the payments, financial services, or commerce landscape preferred.
Information for US Applicants
For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $258,100.00 to $ 451,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
