As a Vehicle Technician with our Attributes team you will play a critical role in the development of Tesla’s industry-leading products. You will help bring the electric vehicle and energy storage products we design to life, and ensure their acoustic integrity. You will work side-by-side with fellow NVH and Vehicle Dynamics staff and other engineering teams to solve the toughest challenges in the industry and deliver world-class performance.

Role is based in BTEC (Berlin - Germany). Occasional travel is required.  

Responsibilities

  • Work independently or alongside other technicians to complete vehicle retrofits and adaptations for attributes performance evaluation 
  • Perform and streamline component swaps (tires, springs, stabilizer bars, dampers, bushings, etc.) during NVH and Vehicle Dynamics tuning or evaluation sessions 
  • Contribute to fabrication of prototype parts and/or vehicles for engineering development 
  • Installation of data acquisition equipment to include sensors (i.e. accelerometers, microphones, gyros, thermocouples, strain gauges, load cells, pressure transducers, torque sensors, displacement sensors, CAN bus traffic, GPS, etc.) 
  • Assess vehicle performance for NVH – squeak  and rattle, brake noise, drive unit noise, road and wind noise, HVAC noise. Record test data if required. 
  • Maintain Attributes fleet vehicles in excellent condition 
  • Maintain test equipment 

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience working in an automotive dealership, workshop or lab.  
  • Strong communication skills, independent worker, and an excellent team player able to work on flexible schedule 
  • Excellent knowledge of vehicle and vehicle subsystems operation; knowledge of electric vehicle architecture a strong plus 
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team as needs require, under pressure and adapt to changing priorities 
  • Excellent attention to detail and hands on approach 
  • Basic understanding of NVH and Vehicle Dynamics, vehicle instrumentation (Siemens and Head Acoustics desirable), CAN communication, and vehicle software 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license 
  • Language preferences: English and German
