User Assistance Developer

Oracle NetSuite is looking for an exceptional user assistance developer to create documentation for business software development tools. The ideal candidate has excellent writing and verbal communication skills, experience documenting business software, and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced development environment. You will work in an AI-assisted authoring environment and use sound editorial judgment to ensure that documentation is accurate, clear, complete, and aligned with product information and documentation standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and three or more years of experience as a user assistance developer, or equivalent transferable writing experience.
• Knowledge of technical communication techniques and standards.
• Excellent English-language, proofreading, editing, writing, and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Strong time-management and prioritization skills, including experience meeting tight deadlines and adapting to changing priorities.
• Experience working with report authoring tools.
• Experience with industry-standard financial and operational reports.
• Strong critical-thinking and editorial-review skills, including the ability to evaluate AI-assisted output for accuracy, completeness, bias, unsupported claims, and consistency with product information and documentation standards.
• Ability to validate information using authoritative sources and exercise sound judgment about when AI-assisted content requires additional research or subject-matter-expert review.
• Familiarity with prompt design, content-review workflows, and repeatable quality-assurance practices for AI-assisted documentation.
• Ability to learn and adapt to evolving authoring tools, content platforms, and documentation processes.
• Experience with, or strong interest in, writing developer documentation, including API documentation.
• Knowledge of XML authoring tools.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Product Management, Development, QA, and Technical Writing to successfully deliver assigned documentation projects.
• Proactively research product changes to determine the scope of edits for assigned documentation areas.
• Write new documentation based on use cases, user stories, feature requirements, specifications, information from developers and product managers, and hands-on use of the product.
• Use AI-assisted writing and development tools, such as ChatGPT, Codex, and Visual Studio Code, to support research, drafting, editing, analysis, and content maintenance.
• Validate AI-assisted output against authoritative product sources, including product behavior, requirements, specifications, and subject-matter-expert input.
• Apply strong editorial judgment to identify and correct hallucinations, unsupported claims, inconsistencies, ambiguity, outdated information, and deviations from documentation standards.
• Develop and refine effective prompts, reusable workflows, and quality checks that improve documentation quality and team efficiency.
• Maintain ownership of final content quality; AI-generated output is a starting point and does not replace writer review, product verification, or subject-matter-expert collaboration.
• Attend and actively contribute to writing and scrum team meetings.
• Partner with teams such as Support, Training, and Professional Services to understand and respond to customer documentation needs.
• Collaborate with other writers and cross-functional partners to establish responsible, scalable AI-assisted authoring practices.
