Description and Requirements

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced USA FAE Engineer to serve as the primary technical liaison between automotive customers and internal engineering teams, supporting the successful deployment of ADAS and autonomous driving solutions. In this highly customer-facing role, you will lead technical discussions, solution reviews, and product evaluations while gathering customer requirements, driving design wins, and ensuring alignment throughout the product lifecycle.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience with ADAS technologies, automotive software systems, and industry standards, along with strong customer-facing and problem-solving skills. This individual will support customers through integration, validation, and production ramp-up activities while collaborating closely with engineering, product, quality, and project teams to deliver successful customer outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

Customer Technical Engagement

  • Lead technical reviews and customer-facing technical discussions during the pre-sales phase.
  • Present solution architectures and support product demonstrations, evaluations, and proof-of-concept activities.
  • Partner with business development teams to drive customer adoption and design wins.

Requirements Management & Solution Alignment

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact throughout the customer engagement lifecycle.
  • Gather and clarify customer requirements and align technical specifications with internal teams.
  • Manage technical change requests and ensure customer expectations are accurately communicated.

Customer Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide on-site and remote technical support during development, integration, validation, and production ramp-up phases.
  • Perform issue triage, debugging, root cause analysis, and technical problem resolution.
  • Escalate complex issues to R&D and engineering teams when necessary.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate with engineering, product management, quality, and project management teams to resolve customer issues.
  • Act as the Voice of the Customer by communicating customer feedback and technical requirements internally.
  • Lead technical review meetings and track progress on customer issues and deliverables.

Delivery & Integration Support

  • Support product delivery and customer acceptance activities.
  • Prepare and review validation reports, technical documentation, and customer-facing technical materials.
  • Deliver technical training to customers and partners as needed.

Ecosystem Collaboration

  • Work closely with suppliers, partners, and customer teams to ensure successful solution integration.
  • Align interfaces, toolchains, and technical requirements across multiple stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in ADAS, autonomous driving systems, automotive software, system integration, testing, or customer-facing technical support roles.
  • Experience supporting automotive electronics, infotainment systems, ADAS, or autonomous driving technologies.
  • Experience working with automotive OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers.
  • Strong understanding of automotive quality systems, ASPICE, Functional Safety (ISO 26262), and Cybersecurity (ISO 21434).
  • Familiarity with automotive regulations and standards related to ADAS, autonomous driving, vehicle electronics, and software validation.
  • Deep understanding of ADAS technologies, including cameras, radar, LiDAR, domain controllers, and automotive software architectures.
  • Proven ability to drive technical discussions with customers and internal engineering teams.
  • Fluent English communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to customers and stakeholders.
  • Mandarin and English bilingual proficiency, with the ability to communicate effectively with both North American customers and China-based engineering teams.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 40%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Field Application Engineer (FAE), Customer Solutions Engineer, or Technical Account Engineer.
  • Experience supporting ADAS or autonomous driving product design-in and design-win activities.
  • Hands-on experience with automotive debugging and validation tools, including CAN/CAN-FD, CANoe, data loggers, and HIL test environments.
  • Knowledge of connected vehicle technologies, OTA updates, and intelligent vehicle systems.
  • Experience providing pre-sales technical support and developing technical proposals.
  • Experience working directly with North American automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
  • Experience supporting customer integration, validation, verification, and production launch activities.
  • Experience serving as a liaison between global engineering teams and customer organizations.
  • Familiarity with cross-cultural business environments and globally distributed engineering teams.

PAY TRANSPARENCY

The anticipated annual compensation range for this position is 155,000–237,705 USD. Final compensation will be based on relevant experience, skills, and business considerations.
