Thin-Film/ALD Engineer
Summary
We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Thin-film /ALD Engineer with a strong background in vacuum systems to lead technical initiatives and process improvements as related to device performance. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring equipment performance, safety compliance, documentation, training and process improvement to help the organization improve.
Description
This is a hands-on role that requires independent judgment, broad engineering insight, and a passion for solving complex equipment and process challenges. The ideal candidate will contribute to continuous improvement, foster a culture of safety and accountability, and bring a deep understanding of both the technical and operational aspects of the job.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support equipment engineering activities, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of complex systems
- Apply deep expertise in vacuum systems and associated subsystems to support production, R&D, or customer environments
- Serve as a technical mentor and resource for engineers and technicians, helping to build a strong, capable team
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on equipment upgrades, process support, and root cause investigations
- Drive and support equipment safety programs, ensuring procedures, training, and operations meet all compliance and regulatory requirements
- Document and communicate technical findings, best practices, and project progress clearly and consistently
Minimum Qualifications
- 5-10 years of experience in module engineering or technical support roles, with a strong knowledge of vacuum and thin film systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven ability to work independently, make sound technical decisions, and lead by example
- Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and process-related systems
- Commitment to safety-first thinking and continuous improvement
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Background in industries such as semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, R&D, capital equipment, or related fields
- Familiarity with a variety of process or manufacturing equipment
- Experience working as both an equipment provider and end user
