Role and responsibilities

ASML is seeking a Test & Measurement Lead Engineer with multidiscipline competencies (mechanical, electronics, test software, integration, troubleshooting, testing) to join the Wilton, Connecticut Development Location. We are seeking an individual with a very strong background in test design, test execution and data quality.

The Test & Measurement Lead Engineer masters the Test & Measurement Facilities (TMF) WoW and at least one or more TMF disciplines. Understands complex test architectures /requirements and is able to convert these requirements to lead realization of design for the different disciplines within TMF. Understands the ASML Development & Engineering WoW (Way of Work) and how this relates to TMF. Suggests product and process improvements to prevent reoccurring errors or failures.

Furthermore develops and maintains a close network within ASML across several projects, primarily focused on a specific BL, System Function, Reliability, and EHS, to be able to drive solutions for structural problems within Testing and all competences and is able to deal with (internal) customers in tense situations.

Here is a non-exhaustive list of typical T&M Engineer capabilities:

  • Drives the test strategy, principles and methods which represents operational conditions and beyond
  • Define and Lead alignment for what is needed for a successful test / Work package, and realization of test setups
  • Take ownership of tests to enable team deliverables
  • Deliver and improves reliable measurement data and draw appropriate conclusions based on advanced analyses
  • Actively contribute to the testing competence and its framework
  • Show ownership in driving the testing competence
  • Align with D&E projects
  • Act as ambassador for the competence and maintain a network of stakeholders
  • Comply to culture within the team according to ASML values
  • Contribute to the team operations and processes
  • Enable a safe and healthy work environment
  • Identifies missing processes/ procedures and is able to develop them
  • Mentor more junior TMF engineers to further develop their engineering skills in development of test equipment

Education and experience

To help us tackle the technical challenges we face, you will need experience working on high tech products, complex processes and especially in a parts level testing environment.

As a Lead TMF Engineer, you will need;

  • Bachelor’s or more Advanced degree in Engineering or equivalent experience, plus 8 years of experience
  • Hands-on engineering development experience in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Material science or likewise.
  • A very strong background in testing, where you know what is needed to translate failure risks into test capabilities and equipment needs.
  • Demonstrated experience within part-level testing environments and problem solving within a complex environment.
  • Excellent communication skill, where you can explain/ convince engineer, deal with (internal) customers in tense situations, and align with system architects.
  • High energy self-motivated and propelling team player with a strong learning mindset.

  • is able to translate highly complex hardware risks failure modes and mechanisms into test methods and measurement results

Context of the position

Within ASML the sector Development & Engineering is responsible for the specification and the design of the ASML products. The department Quality, Reliability and Testing is responsible to maintain the highest level of quality for specification, design, integration and qualification of the mechanical (sub)-systems and components. The group Test and Measurement Facilities is responsible for quantifying hardware risks at part level related to feasibility, functionality, robustness and reliability.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
