Test Engineer Trainee
Nokia is committed to innovation and technology leadership across mobile, fixed and cloud networks. X-Haul team, part of Portfolio Business Unit, is providing Microwave transport solution within Nokia. Our team, which normally consists of 2 or 3 people, is responsible for ensuring the full compatibility of microwave radio devices developed in our hardware labs in accordance with international standards (mainly for the European and US markets) relating to safety and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). As Test Engineer Trainee you will interact with other teams/labs inside and outside X-Haul, in a multicultural and worldwide context.
Qualifications
You have:
- Familiarity in the use of electronic instrumentation and test equipment, including oscilloscopes, power supplies, spectrum analyzers, and other laboratory instruments
- Aptitude in the use of workshop equipment and hand tools
- Good knowledge of power electronics, digital electronics, and RF/microwave engineering principles
- Good knowledge of telecommunications principles and of OS Windows and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong teamwork skills, combined with a proactive and collaborative attitude. Eager to learn and expand own knowledge
- Good spoken and written English
It would be nice if you also had:
- Ability to design, analyze, and interpret analog and digital electronic circuits and technical drawings
- Basic programming knowledge
Responsibilities
- Assemble and configure the telecommunications equipment to be tested in the measurement environment.
- Work closely with product designers and development teams to troubleshoot and resolve EMC test failures.
- Review technical requirements to ensure compliance with customer specifications and applicable standards.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute EMC testing activities throughout the product lifecycle.
- Provide on-site support during outsourced EMC validation activities, including international travel when required.
- Review and contribute to the preparation of technical documentation, validation reports, and compliance records.
- Collaborate effectively within a global, multicultural engineering environment, working with cross-functional teams across different regions and disciplines.
- Acquire advanced skills in electromagnetic compatibility engineering, compliance testing, and international standards applicable to telecommunications equipment.
