Technician / Senior Technician - Automation
The Automation Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining plant automation systems, performs equipment/server recovery and preventive maintenance, and assist engineers with continuous improvement and spare part management.
Your role
Key responsibilities in your new role
- Troubleshoot, recovery and resolve equipment breakdown on plant automation equipment e.g. Autonomous Mobile Robot, Automated Strapping and Unstrapping Equipment, Automated Materials Handling System, Overhead Transportation System, Automated Storage & Retrieval System, Automated Packing Equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic computer hardware and software issues independently / with IT engineer assistance.
- Perform system & server recovery on automation / manufacturing systems e.g. storage system, transportation system, remote command center.
- Assist engineer on software roll-out, and periodical system / server OS & AV patching and update.
- Impart basic operation and troubleshooting skills to operators.
- Perform automation equipment critical checks and restoration.
- Perform preventive maintenance on automation equipment.
- Support engineers on equipment continuous improvement programs.
- Assist engineers on spare part management.
Your profile
Qualifications and skills to help you succeed
- Min. Diploma or equivalence in Mechatronics/ Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering
- Min. 3-5 years of relevant experience with automation equipment
- Must be a team player and able to work independently
- Good interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
- Willing to learn and able to pick up skills quickly
- Willing to work on 12hrs permanent Day/Night shift
- NITEC / Higher NITEC holder is also welcome if have min. 5 years’ experience with automation equipment
- Able to commit 24 months contract (with potential renewal)
Other details:
- Working hours: (7am to 7pm / 7pm to 7am) - 12 hours shift. During probation period: Office hours (8.00am to 5.30pm) or as directed by a supervisor to change to 12 hour shifts.
- OT Compensation: Off Day (1.5x), Rest Day (1 day's pay - worked half day or less / 2 days’ pay - worked more than half day); on a Public Holiday: Work Day (1.5x), Off Day (1.5x & 1 day’s pay in lieu of PH), Rest Day (1 day’s pay - worked half day or less; and 1 day’s pay in lieu of PH / 2 days’ pay - worked more than half day; and 1 day’s pay in lieu of PH)
- Annual leave: 1st year (10 days), 2nd - 5th year (12 days), 6th - 9th year (14 days), 10th - 14th year (16 days), 15th year & above (17 days)
- Wellbeing Leave: 1 day per calendar year
- Non-hospitalisation Leave: 14 working days per calendar year
- Hospitalization leave: 60 working days (inclusive of 14 working days of non-hospitalisation leave) per calendar year
- All shift employees shall be provided with Company’s hired transportation. Employees are required to wait for the Company’s bus at designated pickup points determined by the Company.
