Technician I CSAT Integration

This role is ideal for individuals coming from organizations such as Eaton, Siemens, Honeywell, Motorola, Benchmark Electronics, Celestica, Jabil, Plexus, Cypress Semiconductor, or similar electronics manufacturing operations.
Position Summary
AST SpaceMobile is seeking detail-oriented for Technician I (CSAT Integration Electronics) that is responsible for assembling, testing, inspecting, and supporting production of electronic satellite communication assemblies. Technicians perform critical manufacturing processes while following engineering drawings, production work instructions, quality standards, and ESD requirements. Successful candidates demonstrate strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and experience working with electronic components in a manufacturing environment.
Compensation & Schedule
- Pay: DOE, with overtime opportunities.
- Schedule:
- Monday–Thursday, 7:30 am – 5:30 pm (4x10) with paid lunch and breaks if you don’t punch out for lunch.
- Monday–Thursday, 6:00 pm – 4:00 am (4x10) with paid lunch and breaks if you don’t punch out for lunch.
- Friday – Sunday 6:00am - 6:00 pm (3x12) with paid lunch and breaks if you don’t punch out for lunch.
- Friday – Sunday 6:00pm - 6:00 am (3x12) with paid lunch and breaks if you don’t punch out for lunch.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform harness dressing, including routing, lacing, shielding, and clamping of cables and harnesses within spacecraft modules.
- Electronic assemblies experience (boxes, heaters, RTDs, connectors) following interface control documents (ICDs) and installation drawings.
- Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, installation drawings, and work instructions.
- Ensure compliance with IPC/WHMA-A-620, NASA-STD-8739.4, and company quality standards.
- Use tools such as torque drivers, wire strippers, crimpers, heat guns, and harness forming boards.
- Perform point-to-point continuity checks and support in-process quality inspections.
- Maintain cleanroom protocols and electrostatic discharge (ESD) controls during assembly operations.
- Document work performed and reported any non-conformances (NCRs) to engineering and quality teams.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, quality, and integration teams to resolve technical issues.
What You Bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in electronic assembly or aerospace assembly preferred.
- 2+ years’ experience in electronic assembly and harnessing, preferably in aerospace or satellite manufacturing.
- Proficient with harness dressing standards and practices in aerospace environments.
- Familiarity with CIRRIS or similar harness testing systems is a plus.
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 or NASA workmanship certification is highly desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring schematics, and work instructions.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds with or without accommodation.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience in Aerospace, Electronic Assembly, LEO satellite assembly, electronics bay integration, or flight hardware installations is desired.
- Hands-on experience with bonded connectors, back shell assembly, EMI shielding, and bracket installations.
- Understanding of configuration control and traceability in space-grade production environments.
- Must be able to work either 1st shift, 2nd shift or 3rd shift or the weekends as required.

- Ability to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as required to perform job duties.
- Ability to communicate effectively, including talking and hearing.
- Ability to work in, on, around, and in proximity to large structures, equipment, and tooling.
- Ability to lift, push, and/or carry items up to 40 pounds as required.
- Ability to work near moving mechanical parts and equipment.
- Ability to work in and around tight or confined spaces.
- Ability to work in environments that may include exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and/or hazardous materials (e.g., carbon fiber).
