Technical Program Manager, Enterprise Connectivity Planning
Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.
Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage various Engineering-specific programs and teams.

Responsibilities
- Create multi-year metro or region level network strategies to provide resilient connectivity meeting physical and logical requirements while balancing performance and cost.
- Create and present business cases for long-term investments.
- Communicate and engage with internal teams, including Deploy, Network Engineering, Service Delivery, Production, and Operations.
- Develop relationships and drive delivery with external vendors to engage on strategic initiatives and create an understanding of market conditions for each region.
- Oversee project and change management for projects, make organizational change happen effectively, and ensure lasting benefits of change are achieved.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in program or project management.
- 5 years of experience in leadership roles with/without direct reports.
- Experience in network planning, architecture, or design with a technology or telecommunications company.
Preferred qualifications:
- 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
- Experience in cloud networking, DWDM, fiber, interconnect, peering, IP network planning, or an implementation role at an ISP, telecoms operator, carrier, or CDN.
- Experience incorporating the technical, commercial, and legal areas of cloud networking.
- Experience in people management.
