Summary

This role will help scale and advance the Apple Pay ecosystem in Brazil by working with leading issuers, merchants, payment networks, PSPs, local payment switches, payment processors, FinTechs, and channel partners to deliver seamless Apple Pay experiences and drive acceptance across the market.

We're seeking a payments product leader to drive the technical growth of Apple Pay in Brazil. You will provide deep subject-matter expertise during initial engagements with new partners, define and execute merchant enablement and acceptance strategies, and lead the implementation of new features with existing strategic partners. You will own the end-to-end payment experience — ensuring every transaction is reliable, secure, and performant across the payment stack.

Description

In this role, you will collaborate closely with BD (Business Development), Product, Developer Relations, and engineering teams to scale Apple Pay in Brazil — driving both issuer enablement and merchant acceptance for digital wallet payments.

You will drive partner integrations, design scalable technical solutions, and communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders across a market with a distinctive local payments landscape (including local switches, domestic schemes, and instant payment rails).

You will work hands-on with a variety of ecosystem partners such as issuers, merchants, PSPs, local payment switches, payment processors, networks, FinTechs, POS/acquirer vendors, and labs to resolve issues, enable new capabilities, and maintain strong technical relationships that directly impact business outcomes.

You will lead multiple Apple Pay projects from conception through execution, ensuring alignment across partners and internal teams, and partner with the BD team to drive enablement, acceptance, and adoption at scale.

You will also evangelize Apple Pay technology, drive Wallet adoption by solving customer problems, and stay ahead of local and global industry standards and technology trends.

Responsibilities

Own the enablement and technical implementation of Apple Pay across issuers, merchants, and PSPs in Brazil.
Integrate Apple Wallet functionality with key issuers, merchants, PSPs, and local payment switches.
Partner with the BD team to drive Apple Pay acceptance and scale adoption across merchants and issuers.
Define technical requirements, integration and testing plans, and launch milestones in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Lead partner onboarding and implementations end-to-end, resolving technical blockers and driving execution across internal teams.
Provide ongoing technical support and feature enablement for existing partners to increase conversion and customer usage.
Translate partner needs into clear technical requirements and product improvements, leveraging data and recurring feedback.
Develop and refine documentation, APIs/SDKs, and tooling to simplify integrations and reduce partner onboarding friction.
Serve as SME on contactless payments, EMV, tokenization, provisioning, merchant acceptance flows, and Apple Pay flows to guide troubleshooting and partner architecture reviews.
Monitor local and global ecosystem trends (tap-to-pay, token provisioning, network changes, local switches, and instant payments) and advise internal teams on market-ready enhancements.

Minimum Qualifications

8+ years of experience as a payments product/program manager, ideally within fintech or core payment technologies.
Experience in the payments industry and digital wallets, including experience working with merchants for digital wallet acceptance.
Demonstrated experience in the digital wallet ecosystem, payment networks, PSPs, and local payment switches in Brazil.
Ability to lead complex initiatives with hands-on technical expertise across the payment ecosystem, including NFC/contactless payments, EMV, payment rails, gateways, PSPs, acquirers, and payment terminals.
Proficiency in English and Portuguese.
Proven ability to communicate effectively with partners and stakeholders at all levels.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and make sound decisions.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).

Preferred Qualifications

Direct experience working with external partners on cross-channel initiatives and new technologies.
Deep understanding of Network Tokenization standards, NFC technologies, EMV contactless, 3DS, ISO 8583/ISO 20022, RTP, WSDL, and mobile technology.
Experience with Brazilian domestic schemes (e.g., Elo), local payment switches, and payment rails.
Experience in payment processing, mobile payments, merchant acceptance, issuer apps, e-commerce, and the NFC ecosystem and applications.
Experience in issuer or payment ecosystem authentication methods, fraud prevention and detection, and industry best practices.
Experience with LATAM domestic schemes (e.g., Elo, Cabal), vouchers, combo cards, Electron cards, or alternate payment methods.
Proficiency in Spanish.
