Technical Manager, OPC

Established in 1987 and headquartered in Taiwan, TSMC pioneered the pure-play foundry business model with an exclusive focus on manufacturing its customers’ products. As of 2024, TSMC serves more than 500 customers and manufactures over 11,000 products for high-performance computing, smartphones, the Internet of Things (IoT), automotive, and digital consumer electronics. It is the world’s largest provider of logic ICs, with an annual capacity of over 17 million 12-inch equivalent wafers in 2025. TSMC operates fabs in Taiwan as well as manufacturing subsidiaries in Washington State, Japan and China, and the Company began construction on a specialty technology fab in Dresden, Germany, in 2024. In Arizona, TSMC is building three fabs, with the first starting 4nm production in 2025, the second by 2028, and the third by the end of the decade.

Job Responsibilities

1. Optical Proximity Correction (OPC) development for advanced nodes or specialty projects

2. Resolution Enhancement Techniques (RET) development and pattern fidelity improvement

3. Source Mask Optimization (SMO) , OPC recipe, OPC model (Mask, ADI, AEI,…) and QC system optimization

4. Computing-efficient full-chip layout correction and modeling solutions using software engineering, rigorous physics, and machine learning techniques

5. OPC technology transfer to volume manufacturing

6. Project management and team leadership

Job Qualifications

1. MS or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Computer Science, Chemistry, Optics, Physics, Mathematics, or related engineering disciplines

2. Good programming skill and strong sense of ownership

3. Personal traits: 

(1) Good communication skill and team working

(2) Proactiveness and self-motivation

(3) Commitment and accountability

(4) Willingness to take challenges and resilience to pressure

4. Knowledge of computational lithography is a plus

5. Work experience on machine learning and big data is a plus

6. Fluent in Mandarin or English
