Technical Coordinator, Data Creators (SP)

Figure is an AI robotics company developing autonomous general-purpose humanoid robots. The goal of the company is to ship humanoid robots with human level intelligence. Its robots are engineered to perform a variety of tasks in the home and commercial markets. Figure is headquartered in San Jose, CA, and is establishing its first data operations site in Brazil.

We are building the data foundation that powers our humanoid robots. The Data Operations team creates and curates the training data our AI systems learn from, and the Data Creators organization owns how that data gets captured, at what volume, and to what standard, across our sites.

As a Technical Coordinator, you own the technical operations workstream for the site: hardware, inventory, maintenance, and on-floor technical support. You receive, build, calibrate, and maintain every piece of capture equipment on the floor, from sensor suits and headsets to cameras, rigs, and networking, and you build the inventory and maintenance systems that keep the site running as it scales. When a station goes down, you are the first responder; when a problem outlasts your bench, you are the bridge to Figure's hardware and engineering teams in California. You'll also coach Data Creators on correct equipment use and capture technique, protecting data quality at the source.

Schedule: The site is a 24/7 operation. This role works primarily on the day shift, with flexibility required for early, late, or occasional weekend coverage when critical hardware issues demand it.

Responsibilities:

• Own the site's technical workstream end to end: hardware, inventory, maintenance, and floor-level technical support.
• Receive, inventory, deploy, and maintain all capture equipment (sensor suits, headsets, cameras, rigs, batteries, charging, networking), and build the site's asset-tracking and inventory system.
• Build and calibrate capture stations; keep them within spec, and apply firmware and software updates following HQ guidance.
• Provide first-line troubleshooting of hardware and capture issues during shifts, minimizing station downtime.
• Manage escalations to US-based hardware and engineering teams: document issues with logs, photos, and reproduction steps clear enough to debug asynchronously, and run the RMA and spare-parts loop accounting for import lead times.
• Design and run the preventive maintenance program: maintenance schedules, equipment lifecycle logs, and a spares strategy that keeps the site running between replacement cycles.
• Provide on-site coaching and technical assistance to Data Creators: sensor placement, donning and doffing, and capture technique.
• Write and maintain the site's technical SOPs (setup, calibration, troubleshooting, maintenance) in partnership with Project and Shift Coordinators, and train Creators on equipment care.
• Help build the technical team as the site scales, including onboarding and mentoring future field technical staff.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of hands-on experience maintaining, troubleshooting, or repairing electronic or electromechanical equipment (field service, lab, AV/broadcast, medical devices, industrial automation, IT hardware, or similar), with demonstrated ownership of a technical process or system end to end.
• Systematic troubleshooting skills: able to isolate faults across hardware, cabling, firmware, and software layers.
• Comfortable with bench tools and instruments: multimeter, connectors and cabling, firmware flashing, and basic networking.
• Strong documentation discipline: maintenance logs, inventory records, and issue reports that other people, including remote engineers, can act on.
• A patient coach, comfortable supporting non-technical operators on a busy floor.
• Professional working proficiency in English (technical documentation and escalations with US-based engineering; most collaboration is written and asynchronous).
• Flexibility to occasionally support other shifts in a 24/7 operation.

Bonus Qualifications:

• Technical school background (SENAI, ETEC, or similar) or a degree in electronics, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with VR/AR headsets, motion capture systems, robotics, or drones.
• Field service experience on imported or specialized equipment, including RMA processes with an overseas manufacturer.
• Experience building or running inventory, asset-tracking, or maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Soldering and rework skills, or fabrication experience (3D printing, jigs and fixtures).
• Experience in high-growth startup operations or setting up a new site from zero.

Compensation:

• Base salary: R$ 7,000 to R$ 10,000 per month.
