About the Job
Financial institutions across Asia Pacific are navigating increasingly complex regulatory requirements, evolving risk landscapes and growing demands for better data-driven decision making.
As a Technical Consultant within SAS's Risk Solutions practice, you will work alongside experienced consultants and project teams to help banking clients address risk management challenges through technology-enabled solutions. You will support the delivery of regulatory capital, IFRS 9, stress testing and asset and liability management initiatives while building expertise in banking risk, consulting and SAS technologies.
This is a client-facing, techno-functional role for an analytical professional who enjoys solving business problems, working with data and technology, and developing into a trusted risk solutions consultant.
What You'll Do
- Support the delivery of banking risk solution projects across regulatory capital, IFRS 9, enterprise stress testing and asset and liability management initiatives.
- Apply working knowledge of credit risk, liquidity risk, regulatory capital and other risk management concepts to support consulting engagements and project delivery activities.
- Participate in client workshops, requirements-gathering sessions and stakeholder discussions to understand business objectives and solution requirements.
- Analyse financial, risk and operational data to support regulatory reporting, solution design and client recommendations.
- Assist in translating business and regulatory requirements into functional specifications, solution designs and implementation deliverables.
- Configure, validate and test SAS Risk solutions and associated components under the guidance of senior consultants and project leaders.
- Support issue investigation, troubleshooting and resolution activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare project documentation, client presentations, test results and implementation deliverables to support successful project outcomes.
- Collaborate with consultants, project managers, product specialists and client stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Continuously build expertise in financial risk management, SAS technologies and consulting methodologies through project work, training and knowledge-sharing activities.
What We're Looking For
- 5-8 years of experience in banking risk management, financial services consulting, analytics or risk technology environments.
- Working knowledge of credit risk, IFRS 9, Basel regulatory capital, stress testing, asset and liability management or related risk disciplines.
- Experience supporting software implementation, consulting or transformation projects within banking or financial services environments.
- Hands-on experience with solution configuration, testing, validation, data analysis or business requirements documentation.
- Familiarity with data management, SQL, ETL processes and risk management systems.
- Experience with SAS Risk solutions, SAS Viya, SAS Regulatory Capital Management, SAS IFRS 9, SAS Stress Testing, SAS ALM or comparable risk technology platforms is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and identify actionable insights.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to clearly present findings and recommendations.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, risk management, economics, statistics, mathematics, data analytics or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated learning agility and a strong desire to develop expertise in banking risk consulting, technology solutions and client engagement. Progress toward FRM or PRM certification is advantageous.
