Technical Account Manager (Simulation)- 18778
Job Description and Requirements
We Are
Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.
You Are
You have spent years working at the intersection of technical depth and customer outcomes, and you have learned that the best technical relationship is not about showing up when something breaks, it is about understanding what your customer is trying to build six months from now and making sure the tools, the team, and the plan are already in place. You think in roadmaps, not tickets. You know the difference between answering a question and solving the actual problem underneath it, and that difference matters to you.
You are comfortable sitting in a room with a customer's engineering director talking through their signal integrity challenges on a next-generation chipset and walking out with a clear technical plan that involves presales, support, training, and product development, all coordinated without dropping a thread. You do not wait for perfect alignment across teams, you create it. You ask the right questions, map technical needs to business goals, and move with urgency.
You have a point of view. You push back when a deployment plan is missing critical steps or when a customer is heading toward a tool that will not scale with their actual workflow. You are organized enough to manage multiple strategic accounts at once and technical enough to earn credibility with the engineers who will actually use what you are selling.
At Synopsys, you will work with some of the most advanced electronics companies in the region, and what you build with them will directly shape how they bring products to market.
What You'll Be Doing
- Serve as the single regional point of contact for all technical activities across your assigned High-Tech accounts, coordinating presales, support, training, consulting, and product development engagement
- Partner with the Global Technical Account Manager and Global Enterprise Account Manager to build and execute strategic technical plans that expand Synopsys Simulation & Analysis footprint, displace competition, and grow user adoption
- Map customer business initiatives and technical challenges to Synopsys S&A solutions, positioning tools like electromagnetic simulation, signal integrity, and semiconductor analysis workflows in ways that align with their product roadmaps
- Review all technical support activities for your accounts, work with regional Sales & Engineering managers to ensure quality, follow-up, and coaching for technical staff
- Drive account-based technical campaigns including technology deployment, adoption strategies, and partner solution integration, treating each engagement like a product launch with clear goals and measurable outcomes
- Facilitate direct connection between your accounts and Synopsys product development teams to ensure defects, enhancement requests, and feature priorities are clearly communicated and acted on
- Qualify complex technical opportunities, advise on market sizing, and contribute to field-factory interlock on product positioning and competitive response strategies
The Impact You Will Have
- Your accounts will see Synopsys as a true technical partner, not a vendor, because you will have built trust through consistent delivery and deep understanding of their goals
- You will directly influence product adoption and expansion across the region, turning technical wins into measurable revenue growth and long-term customer retention
- Engineers at your accounts will work faster and with fewer roadblocks because you will have aligned the right resources, training, and support before they hit a wall
- Synopsys product teams will build better tools because you will bring real customer needs and use cases back into the development cycle with clarity and urgency
- Your regional technical and sales teams will operate more effectively because you will have coordinated their efforts around a shared account strategy, not one-off requests
- Competitive displacement will happen not through price or feature lists but through superior technical engagement and customer understanding that you orchestrate
- Your customers will hit their product milestones on time because you will have ensured the simulation and analysis workflows they depend on actually work in their environment
What You'll Need
- BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Thermal Engineering with 6+ years of professional experience in an engineering software environment, or MS with 4+ years, or PhD with 2+ years
- Demonstrated hands-on use of Synopsys Simulation & Analysis tools or equivalent commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, or PLM software packages in real customer or production environments
- Deep understanding of how simulation tools are used in the High-Tech and electronics industry, particularly in high-frequency, IC design, or semiconductor workflows
- Strong technical problem-solving skills combined with business acumen, you can diagnose a technical issue and also understand its impact on a customer's product schedule or revenue plan
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate complex technical tradeoffs clearly to engineers, managers, and executives
- Willingness to travel domestically up to 25% of the time, with flexibility to increase as account needs require
- Previous experience in customer-facing technical roles such as application engineering, technical account management, customer support, or professional services is a strong plus, as is proficiency with electromagnetic simulation, signal integrity, or semiconductor analysis tools
Who You Are
- You can walk into a customer meeting with incomplete information, ask the right questions, and leave with a clear technical plan that everyone agrees on, not because you had all the answers but because you knew how to find them
- You do not let things fall through the cracks, if you say you will coordinate with support, loop in product development, or follow up on a deployment issue, it happens
- You can explain a complex technical tradeoff to a senior engineering manager in two sentences without losing the nuance, and you can also sit with a hands-on engineer and debug a workflow issue in detail
- You are comfortable managing multiple strategic accounts at once, each with different technical stacks, business priorities, and timelines, without losing sight of what matters most in each relationship
- You push back when a plan does not make sense, whether that is an unrealistic customer expectation, a misaligned internal resource request, or a technical approach that will not scale
- You project professionalism and credibility in every interaction, customers and internal teams trust you because you deliver on what you commit to and you do not overpromise
