Key job responsibilities
We are currently seeking a Data Center Chief Engineer to serve as a technical resource within Amazon data centers. You will be part of a highly creative, efficient team tasked with tackling the most fascinating challenges in designing, building, and operating Amazon data center facilities. The team is ultimately responsible for project oversight and review of all disciplines including electrical, mechanical, controls, and architectural. A fundamental understanding of these systems is required, as the individual will be expected to identify areas for improvement as well as act on data provided from other teams and organizations. Ideal candidates will possess the ability to design, develop and deploy innovative solutions to address operational challenges. This role requires both independent contribution as well as the ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams. The scope of projects will include but is not limited to the improvement of electrical, mechanical, fire detection, building automation system, program management, team development.

Basic Qualifications
- Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings
- 4+ years of data center experience including industrial electrical and mechanical systems
- 4+ years of administrative experience including Microsoft Office products
- Experience leading technical teams through daily operations, maintenance evolutions, and complex troubleshooting
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in construction or project management
- Associates or higher in engineering field or mechanical or electrical trades
- PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent certifications
- Training-lead informal training
- Must be able to work in an environment that involves walking, stooping, bending, and climbing to access equipment.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
