About Us

ADESA, a Carvana-owned company, currently operates over 50 locations throughout the U.S. Our auto auctions, some up to 200 acres, provide a wide array of vehicle services that surround our wholesale vehicle remarketing efforts, including retail and wholesale reconditioning, transportation, keys, data analytics, and many of our sites serve as market hub distribution centers for Carvana. We remarket hundreds of thousands of vehicles across North America from Dealers, Commercial Lenders, Manufacturers & more. We work in a service industry and embrace a “we” versus “I” culture - help others, and they will help you. Our industry is fun, fast-paced, and competitive, and filled with the best people who are passionate about what they do. We’re also excited about the future! As an industry leader, ADESA is poised for expansion, including investments in facilities, sales growth, and an ever-increasing growth in customer inventory of vehicles for us to remarket! We are looking for great people who want to take this journey with us!

Role and Team

We are seeking a proactive, results-oriented Team Lead to guide the Sales Operations Support team within ADESA Sales Operations. Sales Operations Support Specialists keep ADESA’s seller-facing auction channels (Simulcast, DealerBlock, and Timed) accurate and sale-ready, support seller onboarding, and produce the reporting, audits, and data work that support Dealer and Commercial Sales Operations Managers (SOMs) and the sellers they serve. The Team Lead owns day-to-day quality, capacity, and coaching for the team; continues to personally handle a lighter share of the same case, audit, and data work - staying close to the work and covering for absences - and partners with SOMs to make sure the team’s work supports both auction operations and broader seller needs.

Reports To: Senior Manager, Sales Operations

Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Operations

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Sales Operations Support team; manage capacity, scheduling, and workload across assigned locations and accounts.
  • Personally perform a lighter volume of the same core work as Sales Operations Support Specialists — working Salesforce cases, completing audits, and other team responsibilities — to stay proficient, model expectations, and cover gaps when team members are out.
  • Own Salesforce case-load balancing and assignment across the team; serve as the escalation point for cases escalated above the Specialist level.
  • Serve as the team’s broader escalation point and quality reviewer, ensuring issues are resolved or routed appropriately before reaching Sales Operations Management.
  • Own team KPIs and report on performance, capacity, and service levels to Sales Operations Management.
  • Onboard, train, and coach team members on ADESA systems and standard operating procedures.

Auction & Seller Support Execution

  • Oversee the team’s work supporting ADESA’s auction channels (Simulcast, DealerBlock, Timed) and seller accounts, including listing accuracy, data quality, and account setup.
  • Ensure recurring reporting, audits, and reconciliations are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Support seller onboarding and other day-to-day seller/operations needs as directed by Dealer and Commercial Sales Operations Managers.
  • Oversee rebate and invoicing data preparation for SOM/Finance approval, resolving escalations as needed.

Process & Efficiency

  • Design and implement process improvements based on inefficiencies identified by the team or self-identified, and lead execution and training on any resulting changes.
  • Identify and drive opportunities to automate or streamline the team’s work, including through AI tools (Claude / Nimbus).
  • Maintain and improve SOPs and documentation so work stays consistent and repeatable.

Collaboration & Development

  • Manage the team’s cross-functional relationships with Fleet Lease, Dealer Relations, Dealer Registration, and other partner teams; resolve issues that require cross-team partnership.
  • Identify and help close process gaps that require cross-functional collaboration.
  • Partner with Dealer and Commercial Sales Operations Managers to route work appropriately and support broader Sales Operations priorities.
  • Support career-development conversations for team members, including growth toward the Sales Operations Manager (SOM) role.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2+ years in an auction, dealer-facing data-quality, or sales-operations execution role, including experience leading, coaching, or mentoring others (even informally).
  • Working proficiency with AMS, AutoIMS, ADESA.com, Simulcast, OpenLane, and DealerBlock or ability to come up to speed quickly and become proficient with new systems and processes.
  • Comfort using AI / automation tools (Claude / Nimbus) to reduce manual work and improve team efficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives or projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and written/verbal communication.

Beneficial Skills:

  • Background in wholesale automotive, auction, or marketplace operations.
  • Experience with seller/customer onboarding, account setup, or account management.
  • Prior reporting, data, or quality-assurance experience.
