We are looking for TCMS Test Engineer

Support the verification and validation of TCMS software, subsystems and interfaces through laboratory, simulator and vehicle testing. Work with test, software and system engineering teams to confirm requirements, identify defects and document results.

You’ll make a difference by

Test Preparation and Execution

  • Review requirements and prepare traceable test cases, procedures and test data.
  • Execute functional, integration, interface, regression and fault-injection tests on testbenches, simulators, target hardware or vehicles.
  • Record results, logs and evidence; compare actual behaviour with expected results.
  • Follow laboratory safety, electrical safety, EHS and configuration-management requirements.

Defect Management and Reporting

  • Report, reproduce and track defects with clear evidence and reproduction steps.
  • Support defect analysis with developers and system engineers, then retest corrections.
  • Prepare accurate test records, reports and verification status updates.
  • Communicate progress, blockers, risks and deviations to the Test Lead.

Test Automation and Improvement

  • Develop and maintain basic Python scripts for repeatable laboratory and regression testing.
  • Use engineering tools, logs and Eclipse or similar environments for integration support and analysis.
  • Contribute to reusable test assets, improved test coverage and efficient test methods.

Preferred Knowledge

  • Exposure to TCMS, railway subsystems, testbenches, simulators or hardware-in-the-loop testing.
  • Awareness of Ethernet, CAN, MVB, WTB, TRDP or similar communication technologies.
  • Initial knowledge of EN 50716 / EN 50657 and safety-related software testing.
  • Familiarity with requirements, defect, version-control or continuous-integration tools; German is an advantage.

Role Expectations

  • Work in a structured, collaborative and safety-conscious manner, with ownership of assigned activities.
  • Deliver accurate, traceable and timely test results and defect reports.
  • Build technical independence, maintain reusable automation and progressively own a defined TCMS test scope.
  • Work may involve test racks, electrical equipment and vehicle hardware; occasional project travel may be required.

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Railway, Mechatronics, Instrumentation or a related discipline.
  • Internship, academic project or up to five years of experience in embedded systems, software testing, integration or railway engineering is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of software testing, verification and validation, embedded systems and control systems.
  • Ability to understand technical requirements, interfaces and system behaviour.
  • Awareness of test-design methods such as boundary-value, equivalence-class, negative and state-transition testing.
  • Basic Python or scripting knowledge and ability to analyse logs and test outputs.
  • Good English communication, technical documentation and problem-solving skills.
