The CoreOS Power and Performance team is looking for an experienced software developer to join us. You will have the opportunity to work on the latest Apple products and build high-quality, production software that ships to billions of Apple customers!
Description
We are looking for a motivated engineer with excellent programming, problem-solving, and communication skills, backed by a solid wireless communication background. You will enable continued innovation by identifying and collecting meaningful radio metrics to improve Apple products. To be successful in this role, you must have a solid software engineering background coupled with a strong system understanding and the ability to write production-level code.
Responsibilities
- Drive wireless telemetry development and analysis (Cellular, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth) across all Apple products.
- Utilize large data analytics and GenAI tools to analyze wireless usage in the field and identify power improvement opportunities. Analyze trends and extract insights to guide new power optimization features and influence future hardware design.
- Build, ship, and maintain high-quality system software.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proficient in C, C++, or Objective-C, with a mastery of Python. Proactive and self-motivated with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with different teams.
- Strong system-level understanding and excellent debugging skills.
- Good understanding of wireless communication, plus one or more of Wi-Fi or cellular protocols.
- B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong mathematical foundations.
- Experience with development on mobile systems.
- Experience working with large, cross-functional teams.
