Description and Requirements

We are looking for a System Performance Validation (SPV) Engineer to support performance testing, analysis, and optimization of Lenovo server platforms. This is a hands-on engineering role with opportunities to develop experience in server system architecture, performance analysis, and platform optimization.

The engineer will work with system architects and cross-functional engineering teams to evaluate system performance, identify bottlenecks, and validate platform performance throughout the product development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Perform hands-on setup, configuration, and testing of Lenovo server platforms.
Run performance benchmarks and workloads and analyze test results.
Support performance characterization and optimization across CPU, memory, storage, I/O, GPU, and other system components.
Investigate performance issues and assist with root-cause analysis and debugging.
Understand system architecture and evaluate how hardware topology, firmware settings, OS configuration, and system design affect overall performance.
Work with system architecture, UEFI, hardware, thermal, power, and OS teams to validate performance-related designs and configurations.
Support performance testing of new server technologies and platforms.
Develop and maintain performance test procedures, technical documentation, and best practices.
Work with senior engineers and architects on customer performance issues and platform optimization.

Basic Qualifications:

Associate degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Good understanding of computer and server architecture fundamentals.
Strong interest in hands-on system testing, debugging, and performance analysis.
Familiarity with Linux and basic system administration.
Basic understanding of CPU, memory, PCIe, storage, networking, and GPU technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to analyze technical data and troubleshoot system-level issues.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Experience with server hardware, benchmarking, scripting, or performance analysis is a plus.
