We are looking for a System Engineer-DCS/VT

As a System Engineer - Data Communication System (DCS) and Video Transmission System (VTS), you will play a key role in designing and delivering railway telecom networks that support mission-critical operational systems across complex rail and metro projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-availability communication infrastructure covering trackside, station, depot, and control centre environments, while collaborating with global teams across design, engineering, integration, testing, commissioning, and handover.

Design and implementation of cybersecurity measures for railway communication networks, including network device hardening, secure interface design, firewall and DMZ architecture, security logging, and access control. Experience in testing and commissioning of secure network architectures for mission-critical transport environments is essential.

·       Work assignments:

Support the Project Lead to rollout of Data Communication Systems (DCS) and Video Transmission Systems (VTS) for large-scale rail and metro projects, ensuring robust, high-availability telecom infrastructure for operational and security-critical applications.

Take end-to-end ownership of the telecom application scope from both technical and commercial perspectives, coordinating with OEMs, subsystem suppliers, civil and MEP interfaces, contractors, project management, and customers to ensure successful execution.

·       Application planning, controlling, and reporting:

Define project objectives for DCS and VTS packages in alignment with customer specifications, interface requirements, telecom architecture, and project management goals. Develop engineering deliverables, implementation plans, and project documentation, and ensure disciplined controlling and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

·       Application implementation:

Coordinate the implementation of complex railway telecom applications in collaboration with international partners, ensuring seamless integration with signalling, OCC, station systems, depot systems, and other interfacing subsystems.

·       Exploration of further business opportunities:

Identify opportunities to create additional value during project execution, including scope enhancements, change requests, and new application work packages that support project and business growth.

·       Leadership:

Provide technical leadership to the application team, support resource planning, and drive effective collaboration across engineering and project functions to deliver high-quality, integrated solutions.

You’ll win us over by:

• Degree in electrical engineering or Electronics and communication engineering preferably
• Extensive professional experience (2-5 years) in railway transportation systems, ideally in the rail systems business
• At least 2 years of experience in Engineering (Design) in ATP/ATC scope for ETCS L1/L2 domain
• Performed hands on design engineering activities for ETCS L1/L2 trackside
• Extensive knowledge on ETCS L1/L2 operation scenario, national values, terminology and packets/telegram
• Project executions covering activities like customer interfacing, scope clarification, Design / Engineering planning and resource allocation
• Knowledge of project management principles for project realization and execution
• Fluent English essential both written and oral, knowledge of Spanish language will be an asset
• Excellent communication abilities combined with strong interpersonal skill
• High level of customer and quality orientation together with strong abilities in consulting and implementation.
