This is a broad and varied role that combines sustainability reporting, environmental management, governance, customer engagement and strategic programme delivery. You will work across every business function, including Information Security, Legal, Procurement, Finance, People, Facilities, Marketing and Sales, to coordinate sustainability initiatives, collect and validate data, manage reporting obligations and drive continual improvement.

The successful candidate will become the subject matter expert for sustainability across Quantexa, providing guidance and support to teams across the business. The role will report directly to the Business Continuity and Operational Resilience Manager, with overall functional oversight sitting with the Head of Information Security.

Key Responsibilities

Sustainability Strategy

  • Drive the development, implementation and continual improvement of Quantexa’s global sustainability strategy, translating commitments into clear programmes, actions and measurable outcomes
  • Monitor and assess emerging ESG and sustainability legislation, reporting requirements, international standards and industry best practice, ensuring Quantexa remains prepared for evolving obligations and stakeholder expectations.
  • Identify, develop and coordinate initiatives to reduce Quantexa’s environmental impact, including energy consumption, carbon emissions, waste, business travel, supply chain impacts and the environmental performance of our offices
  • Establish and maintain sustainability objectives, targets, KPIs and performance metrics, tracking progress and providing clear reporting to senior management on performance, risks and areas requiring improvement
  • Work across business functions to embed sustainability considerations into operational planning, procurement, facilities, supplier management and wider business decision making
  • Support the development of Quantexa’s longer term environmental commitments and transition plans, using reliable data and recognised methodologies to demonstrate measurable progress.

Environmental Management

  • Support the implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of Quantexa’s ISO 14001 Environmental Management System across the UK and Spain, with a view to progressively expanding the scope to additional global locations over the next three years.
  • Coordinate the ISO 14001 internal audit programme and management reviews, ensuring actions, findings and opportunities for improvement are tracked through to completion.
  • Maintain and continually review Quantexa’s environmental aspects and impacts assessment and applicable legal and regulatory registers, ensuring they remain accurate and reflect changes across the business.
  • Manage and track environmental and sustainability objectives, targets and improvement programmes, monitoring progress against agreed KPIs and driving actions across relevant business functions.

Reporting & Disclosure

  • Own and coordinate Quantexa’s sustainability reporting activities including but not limited to:
  • Annual ESG Responsibility Report
  • Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) reporting (UK Government)
  • PPN 06/21 Reporting (UK Public Procurement)
  • CDP Submission (Global)
  • Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) Submission
  • EcoVadis Submission
  • Customer ESG questionnaires
  • Investor due diligence requests
  • Carbon reporting and greenhouse gas inventories
  • Internal sustainability dashboards and metrics

Carbon & Environmental Data

  • Collect, validate and analyse Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions data.
  • Support carbon reduction initiatives across global operations.
  • Analyse electricity, gas, travel, waste and water consumption.
  • Produce management information and trend analysis.
  • Manage the creation of the Quantexa carbon footprint report

Customer & Supplier Assurance

  • Respond to customer sustainability and ESG due diligence requests.
  • Support procurement in assessing supplier sustainability performance.
  • Monitor supplier ESG commitments and improvement actions.
  • Assist with customer audits relating to sustainability.

Governance

  • Prepare papers and reports for Executive Leadership and governance committees.
  • Maintain sustainability policies, procedures and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate action tracking and reporting against strategic objectives.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to automate sustainability reporting.
  • Improve data quality and reporting processes.
  • Benchmark Quantexa against industry best practice.
  • Support new sustainability initiatives and certifications where appropriate.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Around three years’ professional experience within sustainability, ESG or environmental management.
  • Knowledge of climate risk, net zero strategies and corporate sustainability best practice.
  • Good understanding of ESG frameworks and corporate sustainability including ISO/IEC 14001, CDP, Ecovadis and SECR Reporting
  • Experience producing sustainability reports and analysing environmental data.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel.
  • Excellent written communication and report writing skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management across multiple business functions.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Comfortable managing multiple workstreams simultaneously.

Desirable

  • Greenhouse gas accounting.
  • Knowledge of CSRD, ISSB and TCFD.
  • Understanding of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and corporate decarbonisation strategies.
  • Knowledge of UK and international environmental legislation and emerging sustainability regulations.
