Supply Chain Mgr , AFP Performance
Amazon Freight Partners (AFP) is a growing program where carriers have the opportunity to build their business with Amazon. This role manages the day-to-day performance relationship with a portfolio of AFP carriers, helping them execute well, grow, and deliver for the network.
You will own a set of carrier relationships across assigned domiciles. You will coach carriers on performance using data, identify root causes when execution breaks down, and work with internal teams to remove barriers that aren't in the carrier's control. You will be the carrier's primary point of contact at Amazon and the voice of the carrier internally.
This is a hands-on role. You are in the data reviewing scorecards, on the phone with carrier owners walking through rejection trends, and in cross-functional meetings pushing for fixes to fleet, planning, or process issues that affect your carriers. You balance accountability with partnership: when the problem is the carrier's, you coach. When it isn't, you lead in delivering a solution.
Key job responsibilities
Own performance for a portfolio of AFP carriers across assigned domiciles. Monitor scorecards, rejection trends, and acceptance rates. Know your carriers.
Conduct regular carrier 1:1s. Review performance data, identify coaching opportunities, and document interactions in SalesForce.
Root-cause rejections: determine whether the driver is mechanical tractor, HOS, driver attrition, or carrier behavior before taking action. Never coach a carrier for a system failure.
Partner with fleet and maintenance teams to escalate asset issues (uptime, vendor responsiveness, tractor handoffs) that drive rejections outside of carrier control.
Work with product, planning, and operations teams to flag infeasible routes, transit time inaccuracy, or capacity mismatches affecting your carriers.
Support the carrier through ramp, contract changes, and peak preparation. Ensure partners have what they need to execute and that expectations are realistic.
Contribute to team-level initiatives: examples are contract rightsizing, coaching cadences, scorecard enhancements, carrier roundtables, equipment inspection compliance, and partner maintenance adoption.
Build carrier trust through consistent follow-through, honest communication, and timely resolution of issues.
Communicate carrier performance trends and risks to leadership through weekly bridges and WBR inputs.
A day in the life
Some days you are reviewing your carrier scorecards, pulling the weekly rejection data, and prepping for carrier 1:1s. Other days you are on a call with a carrier owner walking through why their acceptance dropped, working with a maintenance team to understand why a tractor has been down for two weeks, or flagging a planning issue where a 500-mile solo tour is physically infeasible at governed speeds. You move between data analysis, carrier coaching, and cross-functional problem solving. The common thread: you know your carriers, you know what's working and what's broken, and you do something about it.
About the team
You're joining a team that manages performance for Amazon Freight Partners. AFP is 212 carriers today, scaling to 452 next year. Your job is to own a portfolio of carriers, coach them on performance, and work cross-functionally when the problem isn't theirs to fix.
Right now the team is focused on closing the gap on DEA and rejections heading into peak. Mech tractor uptime, HOS, and carrier coaching are the big levers. New scorecard metrics just went live. The pace is fast and the work is hands-on.
Good fit if you like working directly with partners, digging into data, and solving problems across teams.
