Overview

Help shape how Microsoft manages and improves supplier performance across the global datacenter supply chain. The Core Datacenter Services (CDS) Procurement team is looking for a Supplier Program Manager to drive supplier accountability, continuous improvement, and operational performance in support of Microsoft’s datacenter growth. 

As a Supplier Program Manager reporting to the Director of Supplier Performance Management, you will manage supplier performance across key categories, focusing on quality, cost, delivery, capacity, compliance, and operational reliability. You will use data and structured problem-solving to identify risks, improve supplier performance, and partner across Procurement, Engineering, Datacenter Operations, Finance, and other teams to deliver measurable business outcomes. Responsibilities
  • You will manage supplier performance using KPIs, SLAs, scorecards, and performance reviews, with a focus on quality, cost, delivery, capacity, compliance, and operational reliability. 
  • You will lead supplier performance reviews and governance routines, ensuring performance gaps, risks, commitments, corrective actions, and improvement opportunities are identified and managed to closure. 
  • You will analyze supplier performance data and trends to identify risks, recurring issues, capacity or capability constraints, and improvement opportunities, translating insights into actionable recommendations. 
  • You will develop and drive supplier improvement and recovery plans, using root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous-improvement methods to address underperformance and deliver sustainable results. 
  • You will assess supplier capability, capacity, operational readiness, and risk, managing escalations and developing mitigation plans that support datacenter delivery and business continuity. 
  • You will partner across Procurement, Engineering, Datacenter Operations, Finance, Quality, and other stakeholders to resolve supplier issues, align priorities, and support sourcing and supplier lifecycle decisions. 
  • You will improve supplier performance processes and tools, including dashboards, performance standards, governance practices, and scalable processes that provide leadership with visibility into supplier performance, risks, and opportunities. 
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 4+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement
    • OR equivalent experience. 

While not required, we also look for the following Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in supplier performance, supply chain, procurement operations, supplier development, or vendor management, and/or an advanced degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, Procurement, Finance, or a related field. 
  • Experience managing complex or high-impact suppliers supporting datacenters, construction, Mechanical & Electrical equipment, IT hardware, manufacturing, critical infrastructure, or capital equipment. 
  • Experience with supplier scorecards, dashboards, KPI/SLA frameworks, supplier business reviews, performance analytics, contracts, ERP, procurement, or supply-chain management systems. 
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement, structured problem-solving, and change-management methodologies, such as Lean or Six Sigma, with demonstrated ability to implement new processes and influence cross-functional teams. 
  • Experience in supplier/vendor management, supply chain, procurement operations, or supplier performance, including KPIs/SLAs, performance reviews, corrective actions, supplier improvement, or risk management. 
  • Demonstrated analytical, structured problem-solving, and project/program management skills, with experience using data to identify performance gaps, assess risks, prioritize actions, and manage multiple initiatives. 
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and drive accountability with suppliers and internal stakeholders. 

Background Check Requirements: 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Business Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $97,600 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $125,000 - $206,400 per year.
