Supervisor Reverse Logistics
Overview We are seeking a Supervisor, Reverse Logistics at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role you will direct and coordinate processes, personnel and supplies to optimize performance and quality to maintain desired turnaround and customer satisfaction. Essential Functions: Team with other Supervisors in Reverse Logistics area and associates to ensure smooth operation throughout the process and across shift lines by flexing associates to maximize production Monitor associate production, attendance, quality and all other aspects of the department or assigned area of the department Ensure that assigned area remains in compliance with 5S standards Ensure that assigned areas have documented procedures, procedures are correct and followed by associates for all processes Ensure that associates working in assigned area are trained, training is documented and followed by associates Ensure that all processes within assigned area have minimum performance expectations Estimate production times and determine optimum staffing to meet departmental goals and standards Continually analyze and evaluate processes in assigned area, making recommendations on process improvements to departmental manager to improve service to our customers and provide better value for Garmin Provide reports to management on turnaround, production, profit and loss, etc Determine overtime requirements as necessary to meet departmental goals and standards Ensure that assigned area has proper supervision for associates working outside of normal business hours Assist with recruitment process of hiring associates, including interviewing and teaming with Human Resources to make hiring decisions Evaluate equipment and processes to ensure personnel safety Counsel and coach associates when necessary Conduct Performance Evaluations Partner with Human Resources for recruiting and resolving associate relations issues Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Operations, Material Management or a substantially similar operations related field OR Associates Degree AND equivalent combination of work experience, education and/or specialized military training Must possess previous supervisory experience or demonstrated experience in leading, training, mentoring, and/or developing other team members Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Word, Access and Excel Demonstrated strong verbal, written, interpersonal and analytical skills Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work will with others Must be flexible and able to work in a fast paced environment with the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work pro-actively and effectively with minimal supervision Must be able to work additional hours to ensure that department needs are covered Desirable Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Industrial Engineering or a technical related field 5 years' previous supervisory experience in reverse logistics, warehouse, manufacturing, returns or operations related field Software programming experience Experience with maintaining inventory accuracy Ability to speak and understand foreign languages Mechanical aptitude Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
