Job Summary
The Supervisor, Product Engineering (Manufacturing) is responsible for leading a team of Product Engineers in supporting manufacturing operations, driving yield improvement, resolving product-related issues, and ensuring the successful introduction and sustainment of products in production. This role collaborates closely with Operations, Test Engineering, Process Engineering, and Quality teams to achieve manufacturing, quality, and cost objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and Develop the Team

  • Supervise and mentor Product Engineers and technical staff.
  • Assign priorities, monitor performance, and support employee development.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Drive Product Yield and Quality Improvement

  • Analyze yield trends and manufacturing data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Drive initiatives to improve product performance, quality, and manufacturability.

Support Manufacturing Operations

  • Provide technical support for production issues impacting quality, yield, and output.
  • Partner with Operations and cross-functional teams to ensure stable manufacturing performance.
  • Ensure timely resolution of customer and factory escalations.

Manage Product Sustaining Activities

  • Support product transfers, qualifications, and engineering change implementations.
  • Evaluate the impact of process, material, and equipment changes on product performance.
  • Ensure compliance with product specifications and quality standards.

Lead Data Analysis and Problem Solving

  • Utilize statistical tools and data analysis techniques to identify trends and drive improvements.
  • Conduct failure analysis and coordinate corrective actions with relevant stakeholders.
  • Present findings and recommendations to management and cross-functional teams.

Drive Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for cycle time, cost, quality, and productivity improvements.
  • Support Lean, Six Sigma, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Lead projects that improve manufacturing efficiency and product reliability.

Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams

  • Work closely with Process Engineering, Test Engineering, Quality, Reliability, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Support new product introductions (NPI), product transfers, and customer requirements.
  • Provide regular updates on engineering projects, product health, and manufacturing performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Test Engineering, or Semiconductor Operations.
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with yield analysis, statistical methods, and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Semiconductor manufacturing experience.
  • Knowledge of SPC, DOE, FMEA, 8D, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with product qualification, reliability testing, and change management processes.
