The Opportunity:

In this pivotal role, you will be the go-to authority on a wide range of industry standards, codes, and regulations. Your expertise will be instrumental in guiding our engineering, product development, and project teams, ensuring that our innovative solutions not only meet but exceed all necessary compliance requirements. You'll play a critical part in safeguarding our reputation for quality, safety, and reliability.
What You'll Do:
- Standards Monitoring & Gap Analysis: Proactively monitor and perform comprehensive gap analysis across a broad spectrum of critical standards and codes, including NFPA, NEC, IEEE, UL, ASHRAE, TIA, OCP, and others relevant to our industry.
- Internal Coordination & Requirement Translation: Drive internal coordination efforts by interpreting complex code and standard evolutions and translating them into clear, actionable engineering requirements for relevant Business Units (BUs) or for cross-BU collaboration.
- Guidance & Interpretation: Provide expert interpretation and guidance to engineering, product development, sales, and project teams on the application of standards and codes throughout the entire product lifecycle, from design to deployment.
- Compliance Assurance: Conduct regular reviews of designs, products, and processes to ensure adherence to all applicable standards and codes, identifying potential risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
- External Representation & Advocacy: Represent Siemens in key working groups and committees, including IEEE, OCP, NERC, EMerge Alliance, and other relevant industry bodies, actively participating in discussions and influencing the development of future standards to align with our strategic interests and technological advancements.
- Thought Leadership Contribution: Contribute to thought-leadership articles, white papers, and presentations to drive the evolution of standards and codes development in alignment with Siemens' strategic roadmap and technological advancements.
- Training & Development: Develop and deliver training sessions to internal teams, enhancing their understanding and application of critical standards and compliance best practices.
- Problem Solving: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve compliance-related issues and challenges, offering practical and effective solutions.
Job Requirements:
- Educational: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or a related field is preferred) with 5-10 years’ experience.
- Professional Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Expert Knowledge: Demonstrated working knowledge of key standards and codes, including but not limited to NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and UL standards and codes, particularly for electrification and automation/controls systems.
- Direct Current Acumen: Familiarity with direct current power distribution systems.
- Standards Committee Experience: Proven experience participating in technical committees/ working groups (e.g., IEEE, NFPA, UL) is highly desirable.
- Analytical Prowess: Exceptional ability to interpret complex technical documents, regulations, and legal texts.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical and regulatory information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
- Collaboration: A strong team player with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external bodies.
- Problem-Solving Mindset: Proactive and detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Continuous Learner: Eagerness to continuously learn and adapt to evolving industry standards and technologies

The pay range for this position is $102,459.00 - $210,773.00 annually with a target incentive of 10% annually. Actual offer may be lower or higher depending on selected professional.
