Stage Ingénieur : Intégration de la cryptographie post-quantique sur microcontrôleur embarqué (F/H)
Contexte
Dans un contexte où l’informatique quantique représente un défi majeur pour les systèmes de sécurité actuels, la cryptographie post-quantique (PQC) constitue une priorité stratégique pour NXP. En tant que co-auteur du standard NIST ML-KEM (CRYSTALS-Kyber), NXP contribue activement au développement des technologies de sécurité de demain.
Au sein de l’équipe basée à Saclay, vous participerez à un projet innovant visant à intégrer des algorithmes de cryptographie post-quantique sur des microcontrôleurs embarqués de nouvelle génération.
Missions
Au cours de ce stage, vous serez amené(e) à :
- Réaliser un état de l’art complet sur la cryptographie post-quantique : menace quantique, comparaison des principaux algorithmes, bibliothèques TLS embarquées et besoins du marché.
- Étudier et prendre en main les solutions logicielles existantes dédiées à l’implémentation de la PQC.
- Intégrer les algorithmes de cryptographie post-quantique standardisés par le NIST sur la carte de développement FRDM-MCXN947.
- Réaliser le portage technique des solutions en vous appuyant notamment sur la bibliothèque open source liboqs.
- Évaluer les performances obtenues à travers un benchmarking comparatif entre les implémentations logicielles et les accélérations matérielles SHA-3.
- Selon l’avancement du projet, contribuer à l’exploration de nouvelles plateformes intégrant des accélérateurs matériels dédiés à la cryptographie post-quantique.
Profil recherché
- Étudiant(e) en dernière année d’école d’ingénieur ou en Master 2 (Bac+5).
- Spécialisation en systèmes embarqués, cryptographie, électronique ou domaine connexe.
- Bonnes connaissances en programmation embarquée et en architecture des microcontrôleurs.
- Intérêt marqué pour la cybersécurité, la cryptographie et les technologies innovantes.
- Esprit d’analyse, autonomie et capacité à mener des travaux de recherche et de développement.
- Maîtrise de l’anglais à l’écrit et à l’oral
Context
As quantum computing emerges as a major challenge for current security systems, Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) has become a strategic priority for NXP. As a co-author of the NIST ML-KEM (CRYSTALS-Kyber) standard, NXP actively contributes to the development of next-generation security technologies.
Within the Saclay-based team, you will contribute to an innovative project focused on integrating post-quantum cryptographic algorithms into next-generation embedded microcontrollers.
Responsibilities
During this internship, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting a comprehensive state-of-the-art study on post-quantum cryptography, including the quantum threat, comparison of leading algorithms, embedded TLS libraries, and market requirements.
- Evaluating and gaining hands-on experience with existing software solutions dedicated to PQC implementation.
- Integrating NIST-standardized post-quantum cryptographic algorithms on the FRDM-MCXN947 development board.
- Performing the technical porting of these solutions, notably using the open-source liboqs library.
- Assessing system performance through comparative benchmarking of software implementations versus SHA-3 hardware acceleration.
- Depending on project progress, contributing to the evaluation of new platforms featuring dedicated hardware accelerators for post-quantum cryptography.
Profile
- Currently pursuing a Master's degree (Master 2) or final year of an Engineering degree program.
- Specialization in Embedded Systems, Cryptography, Electronics, or a related field.
- Solid knowledge of embedded programming and microcontroller architectures.
- Strong interest in cybersecurity, cryptography, and innovative technologies.
- Analytical mindset, autonomy, and ability to conduct research and development activities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
