Stage - Agentic AI Workflows for Simulation f/m - Strategic Student Program
Company Overview
Siemens Digital Industries Software is a leading provider of solutions for the design, simulation, and manufacture of products across many different industries. Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.
Start your career with the Strategic Student Program (SSP)
The Strategic Student Program is our formal internship program globally. You will be mentored by guides and gain invaluable professional experience. At Siemens, SSP interns get access to an international student network and community, career development opportunities with professional growth pathways, comprehensive practical training throughout the program, access to the Siemens Learning Hub and other training materials, and the opportunity to collaborate on exciting projects within a global, diverse team.
Topic: Use of Simcenter SIM AIAgents to develop workflows around HyperMesh,HyperView, andstructural mechanics, fluid, orthermal solvers.
Position Overview
As part of our innovation activities in Artificial Intelligence applied to engineering, we are looking for an intern to contribute to the development of agentic workflows designed to automate and enhance numerical simulation processes.
The objective of this internship is to design, develop, and validate AI agents capable of autonomously orchestrating the different stages of a simulation process, from model preparation to results analysis. These agents will collaborate within an orchestrator to automate complex tasks, capture expert best practices, and improve the productivity of engineering teams. The use case will be based on a real industrial project with one of our partners.
You will work with several simulation and digital engineering solutions, including:
- HyperMeshfor preparing and automating computational models.
- Simcenter3D for configuring, running, and post-processing simulations.
- OptiStructand other specialized solvers for structural and multidisciplinary analyses.
- SIM AI Agentsand their orchestration mechanisms for creating intelligent agents.
- Python, APIs, and integrationtools for connecting engineering applications with artificial intelligence services.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop agentic workflows for numerical simulation activities.
- Create AI agents capable of planning, executing, supervising, and optimizing engineering tasks.
- Integrate different simulation tools into automated processing chains.
- Develop interfaces between AI agents, digital models, and computational solvers.
- Formalize and capture expert knowledge to transform it into reusable intelligent assistants.
- Evaluate the productivity, robustness, and quality gains delivered by autonomous workflows.
- Create innovative demonstrators illustrating the application of generative AI and multi-agent systems to digital engineering.
This 6-month internship is based in Châtillon (Paris area, France) or in Toulouse (France) and starts from January 2027.
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a Master's degree (Bac+5) in France with a focus on mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, industrial engineering, computer science, artificial intelligence, data science, or an equivalent field.
- Strong interest in numerical simulation, automation, and artificial intelligence.
- Knowledge ofPython development.
- Experience with simulation tools such as HyperMesh, HyperView, Simcenter3D, SimcenterAmesim, OptiStruct, orequivalent solutions is an advantage.
- Curiosity about AI agents, large language models (LLMs), generative AI, and workflow orchestration concepts.
- Fluent in both French and English, enabling effective team collaboration.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively with mentors and team members.
