At Relativity Space, we’re building rockets to serve today’s needs and tomorrow’s breakthroughs. Our Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting the growing demand for launch capacity. But that’s just the start. Achieving commercial success with Terran R will unlock new opportunities to advance science, exploration, and innovation, pioneering progress that reaches beyond the known.

Joining Relativity means becoming part of something where autonomy, ownership, and impact exist at every level. Here, you're not just executing tasks; you're solving problems that haven’t been solved before, helping develop a rocket, a factory, and a business from the ground up. Whether you’re in propulsion, manufacturing, software, avionics, or a corporate function, you’ll collaborate across teams, shape decisions, and see your work come to life in record time. Relativity is a place where creativity and technical rigor go hand in hand, and your voice will help define the stories we’re writing together. Now is a unique moment in time where it’s early enough to leave your mark on the product, the process, and the culture, but far enough along that Terran R is tangible and picking up momentum. The most meaningful work of your career is waiting. Join us.

About the Team:

The Reliability team at Relativity Space ensures quality is built into every stage of the Terran R design and production process, embedding reliability from the very beginning. The team works directly with design, manufacturing, test, and launch teams to stay close to the hardware, understand constraints, and proactively shape decisions. As the program moves from development into production and scaled operations, this is the time to establish the right processes, controls, and systems without slowing progress. The team plays a key role in balancing risk, fostering a culture of ownership, and making sure speed never comes at the cost of reliability. Success means creating a quality system that scales with the Terran R program and Relativity as a whole.

About the Role:

As a Staff Technical Product Manager, Configuration Management, you will own the strategy, architecture, and evolution of enterprise-wide configuration management systems and workflows supporting the Terran R program. You will drive the development of scalable solutions that ensure product configuration accuracy, engineering change control, and end-to-end traceability across design, manufacturing, test, and launch. This role combines technical product management, systems engineering, and software integration, requiring a deep understanding of complex hardware development and the ability to translate operational challenges into reliable, automated, and scalable technical solutions.

  • Define and own the technical strategy, roadmap, and architecture for configuration management systems and workflows, ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment with engineering, manufacturing, and business requirements.
  • Architect and optimize end-to-end configuration management processes, including engineering change management, product structure and bill of materials (BOM) management, revision control, configuration baselines, and product lifecycle traceability.
  • Lead the development and integration of enterprise systems, including PLM, ERP, and MES platforms, to establish a consistent, accurate source of product configuration data across the organization.
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, reliability, and software teams to translate complex technical and operational requirements into scalable software solutions that improve efficiency, data integrity, and change execution.
  • Drive automation and digital transformation initiatives that streamline engineering change workflows, eliminate manual processes, and improve visibility into product configurations throughout the hardware lifecycle.
  • Establish and enforce configuration management standards, data governance practices, and change control processes to ensure consistency, traceability, and compliance across the Terran R program.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in technical product management, systems engineering, software engineering, or a related technical role within an advanced manufacturing or complex hardware development environment.
  • Deep understanding of configuration management principles, including engineering change control, BOM management, product structures, revision control, and configuration baselines.
  • Experience designing, implementing, or integrating enterprise systems such as PLM, ERP, or MES, with a strong understanding of how engineering data flows across manufacturing and supply chain operations.
  • Proficiency in programming languages or technical tools such as Python, SQL, JavaScript, Java, or C#, with the ability to understand system architecture, data models, and integration requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional technical initiatives, influence stakeholders, and develop scalable solutions that balance engineering rigor with operational efficiency.

Nice to Haves, But Not Required:

  • Experience with configuration management systems and processes in aerospace, defense, automotive, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with PLM platforms such as Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill, or Dassault Systèmes ENOVIA.
  • Experience developing automated engineering change workflows, integrating enterprise applications through APIs, or building custom configuration management tools.
  • Knowledge of configuration management standards and best practices, including AS9100, EIA-649, or related aerospace quality requirements.
