Company:

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.

Job Area:

Operations Group, Operations Group > Product Management

General Summary:

Qualcomm is seeking a Staff Product Manager to join the Handset Technology Product Management team and support the definition of next-generation mobile experiences across Snapdragon platforms.

This role will work closely with senior product management, architecture, engineering, and technology teams to identify emerging mobile use cases, translate customer and market needs into actionable technical requirements, and coordinate execution across multiple IP organizations. The successful candidate will contribute across CPU, GPU, AI/NPU, Camera, Multimedia, Connectivity, Memory, I/O, System Architecture, Security, and Software to help ensure technology investments remain aligned with real-world handset workloads and OEM needs.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical depth, structured product thinking, analytical capability, and cross-functional execution. This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone who can investigate complex system problems, develop data-driven recommendations, maintain alignment across stakeholders, and independently own defined workstreams within broader handset technology initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Support Future Mobile Experience and Technology Planning

·    Identify, research, and analyze emerging mobile use cases spanning AI, multimodal experiences, gaming, imaging, content creation, productivity, ambient computing, XR, and next-generation user interfaces.

·    Gather and synthesize inputs from OEMs, ecosystem partners, internal product teams, competitive products, and market trends.

·    Translate use cases into clear opportunity statements, platform implications, and technology requirements.

·    Prepare structured analyses, recommendations, and review materials that support long-term handset technology and roadmap decisions.

Develop Cross-IP Requirements and Usage Models

·    Convert end-user experiences into measurable system and subsystem requirements with guidance from senior product and architecture leaders.

·    Develop end-to-end usage models, workload descriptions, KPIs, operating points, and success criteria across CPU, GPU, NPU, Camera, Multimedia, Memory, Connectivity, Security, and Software.

·    Partner with engineering teams to validate assumptions, quantify tradeoffs, and refine requirements based on feasibility, power, performance, thermal, area, cost, and schedule considerations.

·    Maintain requirements, decisions, dependencies, risks, and open issues through architecture reviews and product planning cycles.

Advance Mobile-Focused IP Development

·    Support workload characterization, competitive analysis, system bottleneck identification, and technical gap assessments for key handset experiences.

·    Work with technology product management and engineering teams to ensure early IP concepts are evaluated against representative mobile use cases and operating conditions.

·    Help define benchmarks, models, and evaluation frameworks that measure user-relevant performance rather than isolated peak capability.

·    Track gap-closure plans and provide clear status, evidence, risks, and recommendations to the broader handset technology team.

Execute Cross-Technology Initiatives

·    Own defined workstreams within broader cross-IP programs, from problem definition and analysis through requirements alignment and execution tracking.

·    Coordinate working sessions across architecture, engineering, software, product management, and customer-facing teams.

·    Document technical decisions, tradeoffs, owners, milestones, and action items, and drive timely closure of open issues.

·    Escalate material risks or misalignment with clear supporting data and proposed paths forward.

·    Operate effectively in ambiguous problem spaces while maintaining disciplined follow-through and communication.

Customer and Ecosystem Support

·    Participate in technical discussions with OEMs, ecosystem partners, developers, and internal business teams to understand future needs and validate assumptions.

·    Organize and analyze customer feedback, separate common platform needs from customer-specific requests, and convert findings into actionable requirements.

·    Prepare technical briefs, competitive assessments, meeting summaries, and executive-ready materials for internal and customer reviews.

·    Support follow-up activities and ensure relevant customer commitments and insights are reflected in planning processes.

Required Qualifications

·    Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

·    8+ years of experience in semiconductor, mobile platform, system architecture, technical product management, systems engineering, or a related field.

·    Technical understanding of mobile SoC architecture and demonstrated depth in at least two relevant domains, such as CPU, GPU, AI/NPU, Camera, Multimedia, Memory, I/O, Connectivity, power/performance/thermal management, or mobile software.

·    Experience translating product or customer needs into technical requirements, usage models, workloads, KPIs, or engineering plans.

·    Experience working across multiple engineering or product organizations to resolve dependencies and deliver complex technical outcomes.

·    Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills, including the ability to structure ambiguous problems and develop evidence-based recommendations.

·    Ability to influence technical stakeholders without direct authority and to communicate tradeoffs clearly.

·    Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

·    Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

·    Experience with Snapdragon platforms, mobile OEM requirements, or semiconductor IP and platform planning.

·    Experience in mobile AI and agentic systems, computational photography, gaming, ambient computing, or future mobile user experiences.

·    Experience conducting competitive analysis, workload characterization, system performance analysis, or use-case-driven architecture planning.

·    Familiarity with product planning across multiple roadmap horizons and platform tiers.

·    Experience preparing technical content for senior leadership, customers, or executive reviews.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related technical field.
• 5+ years of Product Management or related work experience.

*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
