Description and Requirements

Position Summary

Lead the architecture, design, and development of next-generation enterprise server platforms, driving end-to-end system design from concept through mass production. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, cost-effective, and high-quality server solutions that meet customer requirements, technology roadmaps, and business objectives.


Key Responsibilities

System Architecture & Design

  • Lead the design and development of 2-socket and multi-socket server platforms, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, scalability, and cost effectiveness.
  • Define system architecture, hardware specifications, and design requirements for enterprise, cloud, and AI server products.
  • Evaluate and select key hardware components, PCB materials, and system technologies to achieve product performance, quality, and cost targets.
  • Drive system-level integration and design optimization across motherboard, power, thermal, firmware, and mechanical domains.

Cross-functional Program Leadership

  • Serve as the technical lead for product development programs, coordinating closely with Mechanical, Thermal, Signal Integrity, Firmware, Power, Validation, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.
  • Ensure technical execution aligns with customer requirements, development milestones, and production schedules.
  • Lead design reviews, risk assessments, root-cause analysis, and issue resolution throughout the product lifecycle.

Technology Development & Industry Engagement

  • Maintain strong relationships with component suppliers, technology partners, and industry organizations.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive technologies, and emerging innovations to support future product roadmap planning.
  • Conduct technical evaluations, proof-of-concept studies, and new technology research to drive product competitiveness.

Validation & Problem Resolution

  • Apply engineering analysis, simulation, validation methodologies, and testing techniques to verify component, circuit, and system-level functionality.
  • Drive debugging and root-cause analysis of complex hardware and system issues throughout development and production.
  • Ensure product reliability, quality, and compliance through comprehensive validation and verification activities.

Manufacturing Readiness & Product Quality

  • Ensure product designs comply with DFX (Design for Excellence) principles, including Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Design for Testability (DFT), and Design for Serviceability (DFS).
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to optimize production yield, reduce costs, and support successful mass production ramp-up.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and development efficiency.

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in enterprise server hardware development and system architecture.
  • Proven experience designing and developing 2-socket or multi-socket server systems.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex hardware development projects across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of server architecture, high-speed interfaces, power delivery, thermal considerations, and board-level system design.
  • Hands-on experience with system-level debugging, validation, and performance optimization.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in hardware design and development tools, including:
    • Cadence Concept HDL
    • Cadence Allegro
    • Validation and diagnostic tools
    • Hardware scripting and automation tools
    • CPLD development tools
  • Strong knowledge of electronic components, PCB materials, signal integrity, and system integration principles.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with system management firmware development.
  • Experience in CPLD and FPGA architecture, coding, and debugging.
  • Familiarity with server management technologies, platform firmware, and datacenter system architectures.
  • Prior experience working with leading server ODM/OEM organizations or enterprise server vendors.
