Sr. Technical Program Manager, AWS EC2 Accelerator Team
AWS builds the custom silicon and platforms that power the world's largest AI and machine learning workloads. We are looking for an exceptional Senior Technical Program Manager to drive the most complex, cross-organizational programs behind AWS's AI accelerators — Trainium and Inferentia.
In this role, you will own the end-to-end delivery of ambiguous, high-stakes programs that span silicon, hardware, software platforms, and ML frameworks. You will bring structure to ambiguity, drive alignment across many teams, surface and resolve the critical path, and hold a diverse set of stakeholders accountable to commitments. You will be the connective tissue that turns a portfolio of independent efforts into a coherent, on-time delivery — and the trusted voice leadership relies on for a clear-eyed view of status, risk, and the decisions that matter. This is a rare opportunity to shape how purpose-built AI infrastructure gets built and shipped at scale.
Key job responsibilities
- Own the planning and end-to-end delivery of large, cross-functional programs spanning silicon, hardware, software platforms, and ML frameworks — defining scope, milestones, dependencies, and the critical path.
- Drive alignment across many teams and leaders; establish mechanisms (planning, status, risk reviews) that keep a complex program moving and transparent.
- Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks; drive mitigations and force clarity on trade-offs before they become launch-blocking.
- Translate ambiguous, high-level goals into concrete plans with clear owners, dates, and success criteria.
- Communicate crisp status, risks, and decision asks to senior leadership; be the single source of truth for program health.
- Raise the bar on program management practices and mechanisms across the org, driving continuous improvement in how the team plans and executes.
A day in the life
You start the day scanning program dashboards and updating the critical path from a partner team. You run a cross-team sync to unblock a dependency between the hardware and software platform teams, then spend mid-morning pressure-testing a launch plan and pinning down owners and dates for the open risks. In the afternoon you drive a risk review, update the program's status narrative, and align stakeholders on a scope trade-off that protects the launch date. You close the day sending a crisp leadership update — where the program stands, the top risks, and the two decisions you need this week. Throughout, you are converting ambiguity into a clear, shared plan and holding the whole program accountable to it.
