Key job responsibilities
- Design and architect end-to-end database solutions for HCLS customers, leading technical discussions on complex migration and modernization strategies across commercial relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server), open-source relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB), NoSQL services (e.g., DynamoDB, DocumentDB), and specialized database engines (e.g., Neptune, ElastiCache)
- Lead complex database migration assessments, performance optimization engagements, and architecture reviews, applying technical judgment to evaluate trade-offs in scalability, reliability, cost optimization, and operational excellence
- Provide strategic technical guidance to customers through 1:1 advisory sessions and 1:many enablement workshops, translating business requirements into technical solutions that address their unique challenges in the competitive database landscape
- Drive database service adoption and revenue growth by contributing to go-to-market strategy, creating reusable technical content (workshops, reference architectures, best practices), and mentoring field Solutions Architects through office hours and knowledge sharing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, product, and engineering to gather customer feedback, influence database service roadmaps, and ensure customer requirements are translated into actionable product enhancements
- Stay current with emerging trends in Database, Analytics, and Generative Artificial Intelligence technologies to help customers innovate and maintain competitive advantage.

Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
- Commercial relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server)
- Non-relational databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, Redis, Couchbase, Neptune, Neo4j)
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
- Data modeling: Strong skills in relational data modeling, NoSQL data modeling patterns (e.g., single-table design for DynamoDB), and choosing the right database for the right workload.
- Generative AI fluency: Understanding of how databases integrate with GenAI workloads.
- Infrastructure as Code: Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK for database infrastructure automation.
- AWS Certifications: AWS Database Specialty, AWS Solutions Architect Professional, or equivalent certifications.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
