THE ROLE
The Sr Manager, Sourcing will define and lead sourcing strategy across semiconductor and hardware new product introduction programs, connecting technology roadmaps with supply chain architecture, supplier ecosystem readiness, and business execution. This role serves as a senior cross-functional leader, partnering with Architects, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, OSAT Operations, and Program teams to shape approved vendor strategy, influence key technology and sourcing decisions, mitigate business continuity risk, and enable successful EVT, DVT, PVT, and production ramp. The ideal candidate brings strong executive presence, deep commercial and supply chain expertise, and a demonstrated ability to lead through complexity, align organizations, and deliver business outcomes in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and lead sourcing strategy across semiconductor and hardware NPI programs to align supply chain capability with product roadmaps, engineering priorities, and business objectives.
- Own the supply chain architecture for critical technologies and components, including approved vendor strategy, dual sourcing, lifecycle planning, capacity alignment, and long-term resiliency.
- Lead cross-functional alignment across Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Operations, and Program teams to drive sourcing decisions that support cost, quality, schedule, and ramp objectives.
- Influence product and technology decisions through sourcing intelligence, including market dynamics, supplier capability, lead-time trends, lifecycle and obsolescence exposure, and total cost considerations.
- Drive executive-level risk identification and mitigation across the NPI lifecycle, anticipating single points of failure, capacity constraints, geopolitical exposure, and supplier readiness gaps before they impact program execution.
- Build and manage strategic supplier relationships for semiconductor, electronics, mechanical, and custom technologies to ensure capability, quality, innovation, and continuity of supply.
- Provide leadership across supplier selection, commercial strategy, qualification, and readiness for EVT, DVT, PVT, line validation, and volume production.
- Champion make-versus-buy, outsource versus insource, and strategic sourcing decisions by balancing technical needs, supply continuity, gross margin goals, and long-term business value.
- Lead organizational alignment and escalation management on critical supply challenges, ensuring timely decisions and clear accountability across internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Influence AMD OSAT design and material selection across business units to consolidate supplier spends.
- Representing AMD Commodity Sourcing in industry consortiums to influence supply chain robustness and gather market intelligence.
THE PERSON
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field.
- Experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or supplier management within semiconductor, electronics, hardware, or complex manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading sourcing strategy for NPI, product commercialization, or hardware product launches, including supplier readiness from prototype through high-volume production.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor and hardware component supply chains, supplier qualification, approved vendor strategy, lifecycle management, and risk mitigation.
- Proven ability to lead through influence across Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Operations, and Program organizations, and to drive decisions at senior and executive levels.
- Demonstrated success managing complex supplier ecosystems, navigating ambiguity, and converting technical and business requirements into scalable sourcing strategies.
- Strong executive communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead organizational alignment and business-critical escalations.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Advanced degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience leading sourcing strategy for semiconductors, PCBA, interconnect, thermal, mechanical, or custom engineered components across global supply bases.
- Knowledge of NPI stage gates, including EVT, DVT, PVT, and manufacturing ramp readiness requirements.
- Familiarity with supplier quality systems, engineering change management, product lifecycle risk, capacity planning, and supply continuity planning in constrained markets.
- Experience building governance models, executive review mechanisms, and strategic supplier engagement plans that support long-term growth and resilience.

Compensation: Expected salary range: TWD 2,228,590.00 per year to TWD 3,183,700.00 per year
