Sr. Product Manager, PaymentsEvery day, Clover powers card present and omnicommerce services for hundreds of thousands of merchants in multiple countries around the world. Behind the scenes, we operate a cloud platform providing payment processing, storage, and collaboration for merchants, application developers, service providers, and our merchants' customers. Our devices and platform form the backbone of millions of payment interactions between merchants and their customers daily. We are looking for self starters with a passion for technology who want to help us impact millions of merchant’s lives one transaction at a time.
As a Product Manager for Payments at Clover, you’ll help extend our industry leadership in card present payments. You’ll be a core member of the team that grows Clover’s payments business globally, working closely with user experience researchers, designers and your engineering team to create compelling new payment capabilities. You’ll also track and ensure implementation of card brand compliance changes and monitor industry certification requirements. Given your product knowledge, you’ll be called upon to help manage production issues and help ensure the robustness of our payments platform. Finally, you’ll help create product marketing materials, educate sales channels about Clover payments features, and contribute to winning large deals.
To be successful in this role, you must have a desire to think strategically while also maintaining close attention to detail.You should have good working knowledge of card processing functions such as authorization, closeout, clearing, settlement, and funding. Knowledge of payment methods outside the US is a strong plus. You must also have an ability to think strategically about Clover’s overall business. You must understand the current landscape of payment industry players, including issuers, acquirers, processors, gateway providers, and payment networks. You must be able to build empathy for our end users; you should love speaking to customers and converting your findings into a roadmap with measurable outcomes. You should be comfortable creating user stories and requirements, presenting to customers, developers and other cross-functional stakeholders.
What you will do:
Market Research
- Track payments industry trends and standards, conduct competitive analysis, then translate findings into actionable insights that inform roadmap decisions
- Analyze customer feedback to continually improve the user experience of merchants and consumers.
- Identify opportunities for new value-added and differentiated features for the Clover Ecosystem.
Product Strategy and Roadmap
- Help build business cases for new payments features and products
- Prioritize deliverables while weighing strategic value, revenue impact and operational benefits and other factors.
- Define and track KPIs as it relates to the payments capabilities of Clover
Product Delivery & Go to Market
- Collaborate closely with design, engineering, other product managers, developer relations, quality assurance, and operations colleagues to deliver new payments functionality.
- Define requirements and write detailed user stories for payments-related features
- Work with marketing staff to create marketing collateral and other materials
Product Performance
- Monitor adoption of new features
- Help diagnose and troubleshoot production incidents
What you need to have:
- 7+ years of product management experience
- Familiarity with payments and financial technology, including EMV, kernels, alternate payment methods, etc.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and influencing skills
- Capability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions
- An ability to travel domestically and internationally on occasion
- BS/BA in computer science, engineering, economics or similar technical field

Salary Range
$134,000.00 - $218,400.00These pay ranges apply to employees in Sunnyvale, California. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
