Are you passionate about helping medical device companies get life-changing technologies to patients faster and more safely? Do you know the systems that run the medical technology industry, from connected devices and Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) to regulated quality systems, manufacturing, and global supply chains? Most of all, do you want to lead a team of Solutions Architects who help the world's leading MedTech companies migrate, modernize, and innovate on the cloud?

Amazon is where innovation, risks, and ideas are celebrated. We are builders. We try new things and dream big dreams. At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we are inventing the future of cloud computing. AWS is where the cloud first came to life. Now we're inventing for the decades ahead. It is still Day 1 for us, and we are looking for curious people to be part of our diverse teams of thinkers, builders, and doers. Come join us and work with the latest cloud computing technologies that help our customers do more with technology and change the world in their industries.

We are looking for an experienced, customer-obsessed leader to hire, coach, and grow a team of Solutions Architects dedicated to Medical Technology (MedTech) customers in our US Healthcare and Life Sciences (HCLS) organization. MedTech is a distinct segment for AWS. It is built on large-scale migration and data center exit programs, and it is increasingly shaped by connected care, generative AI, and intelligent manufacturing. Your team will be trusted technical advisors to customer executives and engineering leaders. They will help customers design architectures that meet the demands of a highly regulated industry while getting products to market faster.

You need to be technically credible with both customers and architects. You should understand the medical device lifecycle, from design controls and regulatory submission through manufacturing, distribution, and post-market surveillance. You will develop your team's skills in solution selling, architecture design, presentations, and executive engagement, and you will build the specialized domain depth that sets them apart in this industry. You will also work closely with sales, business development, specialist teams, AWS service teams, Professional Services, and partners, and represent your team to executive leadership.

Please apply if you are passionate about the following:
  • Using cloud technology to help medical device companies improve patient outcomes and deliver care beyond the hospital
  • Helping customers migrate and modernize complex, regulated workloads at enterprise scale
  • Deep technical discussions about design, and keeping your technical skills current while tracking MedTech industry trends
  • Our company credo: "Work hard. Have fun. Make history." Loving what you do and taking pride in the value you bring to customers matters here
Key job responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Solutions Architects supporting strategic MedTech customers, including leaders in medical devices, diagnostics, surgical robotics, and connected health.
  • As a key member of the HCLS Solutions Architecture leadership team, set and drive technical strategy for the MedTech segment. This includes large-scale migrations and modernization, connected device and IoT platforms, SaMD, generative and agentic AI, smart manufacturing, and supply chain resilience.
  • Hire, onboard, train, and develop Solutions Architects from internal and external sources. Build both AWS technical depth and medical device domain knowledge.
  • Partner with Sales and Business Development leaders on account strategy, prioritize engagements, and adjust resourcing to drive revenue, adoption, and market share for AWS.
  • Create scalable ways to deliver technical guidance, such as reference architectures, compliance-ready patterns, workshops, and one-to-few and one-to-many enablement.
  • Act as a link between customers, AWS service teams, and Support, and bring MedTech customer needs into the AWS product roadmap.
  • Communicate clearly with a wide range of audiences. Write strategic documents and lead business and technology discussions with senior leaders inside and outside AWS.
  • Represent AWS in the MedTech community through customer executive briefings, industry conferences, and thought leadership.
A day in the life
Your morning starts with a review of engagement updates and migration milestones across your customers, then a sync with your sales counterparts to align on priorities. Mid-morning, you coach an architect preparing an executive briefing on a connected device platform. After that, you join a design review of a manufacturing data architecture that has to meet validation requirements. In the afternoon, you meet with an AWS service team about a customer need for a regulated AI workload, then work on a strategy document outlining your team's goals for the year. You finish with a career development one-on-one with a member of your team.
