The Senior Manager leads a Business Development (BD) team within the AWS CSAT organization, driving cloud adoption across enterprise and digital-native business customers. This is a people-first leadership role that requires strong commercial judgment, executive-level influence, and the ability to build and grow high-performing sales teams. The role reports to an business development director and manages BD professionals across multiple territories.

Key job responsibilities
  • Build and lead a high-performance enterprise BD team with clear territory assignments, account coverage, and quota frameworks.
  • Own full-cycle hiring and talent development; coach team members and maintain a high performance bar.
  • Develop and execute multi-year account strategies for a portfolio of enterprise and digital-native accounts.
  • Build trusted relationships with C-suite stakeholders at customer and AWS leadership levels.
  • Align cross-functional teams — Sales, Marketing, Channel & Partners, Legal, Solution Architecture — for cohesive go-to-market execution.
  • Lead complex commercial negotiations; act as escalation point for non-standard deal terms.
  • Drive disciplined pipeline development with accurate forecast visibility across the team.
  • Represent AWS externally as a thought leader; evangelize cloud transformation in targeted industries.
  • Operate with high autonomy to resolve business and customer issues; write clear, compelling business documents.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Product Management, Customer Service, Operations, Legal, Finance, and Senior Leadership
  • Speak, write, and read fluently in English
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent, or Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics, computer science, data science, engineering, or other related field
  • 10+ years of experience leading commercial sales or business development teams in technology or cloud industries.
  • 5+ years of direct people management experience, including hiring and developing quota-carrying BD or sales professionals.
  • Proven track record of consistent business growth across enterprise (ENT) and/or digital-native (DNB) customer segments.
  • Ability to build and influence C-level and VP-level relationships; navigate complex, multi-party deal structures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of AWS services, market segments, customer base and industry verticals
  • Experience in specific technology domain areas like software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data and analytics
  • Master's degree in management, business administration, economics, engineering, marketing, or Bachelor's degree
  • Experience presenting ideas to various levels of an organization to gain support for initiatives
  • Substantial experience with cloud platforms, IoT, data & analytics, Generative AI (GenAI), and/or AI/ML solutions.
