A Little About Us

Yahoo DSP helps advertisers connect with audiences across digital channels through data, technology, and premium inventory. The DSP Finance team supports financial planning, reporting, and decision-making across the business, partnering closely with Accounting, Business Operations, Product, and other finance teams. We work in a complex, data-rich environment where strong financial discipline, reliable processes, and clear insights are essential.

About the Role

Yahoo DSP is seeking a Senior Manager, Revenue Analytics & Forecasting to serve as a subject-matter expert on the performance of Yahoo's demand-side platform business. This is a senior individual contributor role responsible for revenue pacing and forecasting, sales performance analytics, and advanced ad hoc analysis in support of executive decision-making.

The role builds on an established analytics foundation, including automated performance reporting and statistical forecasting systems. The Senior Manager will be responsible for validating and extending this output, developing an independent point of view on business trajectory, and building new analytical tooling using modern AI-assisted development workflows.

The ideal candidate combines strong quantitative and technical skills with sound business judgment, and is comfortable operating across forecasting, sales economics, and investigative analysis while communicating directly with senior leadership.

Responsibilities

Revenue Pacing & Account Performance

  • Serve as the organization's primary resource for DSP revenue performance, maintaining detailed command of pacing, advertiser-level trends, and underlying drivers
  • Review, validate, and extend automated performance reporting, providing analysis and context beyond system-generated output
  • Monitor account-level risk indicators, including deceleration, revenue concentration, and churn signals, and escalate emerging issues proactively
  • Deliver clear, decision-relevant analysis and narrative to executive and global leadership

Forecasting

  • Own the recurring review of revenue forecast output, developing an independent and defensible view of expected performance for the upcoming quarter and beyond
  • Build and maintain supplementary models where existing systems do not fully address a business question
  • Evaluate external predictors and leading indicators – including macroeconomic conditions, seasonality, and category dynamics – for potential to improve forecast accuracy
  • Support planning cycles, quarterly business reviews, and forecast-to-goal analysis in partnership with FP&A and leadership

Sales Performance & Commission Analytics

  • Own ongoing tracking and analysis of commission performance across the sales organization, including earnings distribution, quota attainment, and commissionable revenue ratios
  • Develop a consistent monitoring framework for seller economics, identifying outliers and emerging risks – both elevated payout exposure and underperformance – early enough to inform action
  • Analyze plan mechanics, including accelerator exposure, and surface structural findings to leadership
  • Partner with Sales Operations and Finance on plan health while owning the analytical and monitoring layer

Analytics Tooling Development

  • Dedicate substantial time to hands-on development, working daily in AI-assisted development environments to build, extend, and maintain internal reporting and analysis tools
  • Convert recurring analytical questions into durable, self-service tooling rather than repeated one-off analyses
  • Identify gaps, blind spots, and false positives in existing automated systems, and either resolve them directly or define precise requirements for the teams maintaining them
  • Reduce time-to-insight for stakeholders across the organization

Advanced Ad Hoc Analysis

  • Conduct in-depth investigations into margin drivers, structural performance patterns, and dynamics across advertiser, agency, vertical, and regional views
  • Analyze drivers of customer retention and churn, translating findings into leading indicators the business can monitor
  • Distinguish genuine demand signal from noise when performance shifts, and communicate uncertainty transparently where it exists

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in revenue analytics, FP&A, business intelligence, or GTM analytics, ideally in ad tech, digital media, or a scaled marketplace business
  • Expert-level SQL and strong Python proficiency; demonstrated experience building or critically evaluating forecasting and time-series models (e.g., pacing curves, ensemble methods, statistical forecasting)
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development and analytics workflows, with strong judgment regarding where automated output may be incorrect, misleading, or incomplete
  • Experience with sales compensation analytics, including quota, attainment, and commission structures
  • Proven ability to generate actionable insight from complex data and communicate it effectively to senior and executive leadership
  • Strong statistical fundamentals and demonstrated ability to validate and extend existing analyses and systems, not only produce original work
  • Commitment to accurate, risk-aware framing, including proactively surfacing limitations and data gaps
  • Self-directed and effective in ambiguous environments, with the ability to move between forecasting, sales analytics, tooling development, and investigative analysis

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in programmatic advertising or DSP/SSP economics
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (GCP, AWS) and modern BI tooling (Looker, Tableau)
  • Track record of building independent models or tools alongside established production systems, with sound judgment on when to rely on each
