Sr. Fullstack Engineer, Robotaxi & Optimus

Description

Join a small team of experts to build and scale the platform that connects Tesla and its customers to every vehicle, Robotaxi, Optimus robot, and energy product. We own remote interactions used by millions of customers like vehicle commands, real-time telemetry, over-the-air updates, phone-as-key, rider profiles, and vehicle sharing. Engineering, service, sales, delivery, and manufacturing teams depend on our systems to move fast. 

This role owns the authentication experience used by every Tesla owner, the developer platform at developer.tesla.com, and the other product interfaces built on our backend, such as trip sharing and internal tools. You will work across the stack, from React frontends to Go services, and ship to production frequently. 

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate scalable, highly available, mission-critical services and APIs 

• Own and improve the UI/UX of authentication, the developer platform, trip sharing, and internal tools 

• Migrate legacy systems to designs with better maintainability, security, and performance 

• Build on distributed, asynchronous messaging at fleet scale 

• Gather requirements from stakeholders across Tesla and turn them into shipped features 

• Partner with Product, SRE, and Infrastructure to deliver on the roadmap 

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience 

• 3+ years building highly reliable, mission-critical web applications with frequent production releases 

• Strong frontend and backend skills; React or equivalent required, Go a plus 

• Deep knowledge of API design, information security, and web development best practices 

• Experience gathering and shaping requirements from multiple stakeholders 

• Kubernetes experience a plus

Expected Compensation

$172,000 - $312,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
