Description and Requirements

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior BMC Firmware Engineer in Taiwan to lead and drive server management architecture for Lenovo’s next-generation data center and enterprise platforms. This role expects global coordination with multiple geographical areas like China, USA, and India.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and optimize OpenBMC software stacks (D-Bus services, platform management, Redfish APIs, IPMI, PLDM, and MCTP) for enterprise servers.
  • Lead BMC SoC board bring-up (ASPEED 2700) and hardware interface debugging (I2C, SMBus, eSPI, PCIe VDM, JTAG).
  • Drive the design, implementation, and maintenance of Storage and IO subsystem management features.
  • Guide junior/mid-level engineers, establish firmware coding standards, and drive architectural decisions across cross-functional teams.
  • Lead next-generation OpenBMC PoC initiatives and engage in Lenovo-wide technical working groups and industry consortiums.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 12+ years of BMC Firmware development experience, with 3+ years minimum in OpenBMC.
  • Ability to lead complex technical projects, conduct architecture reviews, and collaborate across global R&D teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of BMC-related protocols and standards: Redfish, IPMI, PLDM, MCTP, I2C/I3C, SMBus, SPI, eSPI, UART, PCIe VDM.
  • Working level of knowledge: PFR / Platform Root of Trust, bmcweb, and Yocto/OpenEmbedded.
  • Excellent track record of embedded C/C++ development for x86/ARM server platforms.
  • Familiarity with ASPEED series (e.g., AST2600, AST2700).
     
Nice to have:
  • Experience evaluating AI-driven tools and workflows to accelerate firmware development, code reviews, and debugging.
