As a Senior Firmware Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and automating test suites, validating host interfaces, and driving system-level and feature-level testing. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring our products meet industry standards and customer expectations. This role offers an opportunity to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and contribute to the development of next-generation optical telecom solutions.

Qualifications

Must-have skills

  • BE/BTECH in Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of experience in validating optical telecom products.
  • Strong domain expertise in validating Coherent Optics, Transponders, and standards: OTN (G.709), Ethernet (100G/400G/800G), CMIS.
  • Proven experience in testing carrier-grade embedded systems in cross-functional and Agile environments.
  • Hands-on experience with optical test equipment, including traffic testers, OSA, Optical Analyzer, Power Meter, VOA, Optical Switch, and BER testers.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, with experience in pytest-based automation frameworks preferred.
  • Experience with test automation, Git, CI/CD integration, defect tracking, and test management tools.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with a track record of working effectively with geographically distributed teams.
  • Self-driven, quality-focused, and adaptable to fast-paced product environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.

Nice-to-have skills

  • Strong proficiency in Python, with experience in pytest-based automation frameworks preferred.
  • Experience with test automation, Git, CI/CD integration, defect tracking, and test management tools.

Responsibilities

  • Own and define the end-to-end validation strategy for coherent pluggable optics and transponder products, ensuring carrier-class quality.
  • Drive system-level and feature-level test planning, aligning with product architecture, standards, and customer use cases.
  • Lead and execute complex validation using white-box and black-box testing across HW, ASIC, FW, and SW layers.
  • Collaborate with HW, Optical, ASIC, FW, and SW teams to influence design for testability and ensure product compliance.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for customer-found and field issues, enhancing test coverage to prevent recurrence.
  • Participate in the test automation strategy, ensuring scalability and long-term maintainability of validation processes.
  • Ensure validation readiness, quality metrics, and release sign-off, conducting risk assessments as needed.
  • Stay updated with industry standards and best practices, contributing to the continuous improvement of validation processes.
