Sr. Electrical Tooling Engineer, Terafab
Description
We are building Terafab, a vertically integrated semiconductor factory at unprecedented scale. Logic, memory, packaging, test, and lithography mask production in one facility, optimized for quick iteration and the highest density of compute.
As an Electrical Tooling Engineer, you will design, build, and commission the electrical systems that bring process tools online for 2nm-class manufacturing. That includes tool power, grounding, cable tray, electrical install, and the electrical interface to facility systems. This is a ground-up greenfield build, and you will own it from concept through commissioning at one of the most ambitious fab programs in the world.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical tooling for a greenfield 300mm fab, from concept through install and commissioning
- Design and specify the electrical interface between facility systems and process tools. Challenge industry norms to get tools in faster, with the best overall outcome
- Own electrical scope for process tools: power distribution, tool disconnects, grounding and bonding, cable tray, interlocks, and EMO
- Partner with construction, facilities, and equipment vendors on tool install plans. Review facility matrices, drawings, and layout against fab infrastructure and cleanroom constraints
- Coordinate electrical install, including utility breakouts and alignment to mechanical and automation scope
- Define IQ/OQ/PQ for electrical tooling and the facility-tool interface. Support power quality, EMI, and tool electrical safety requirements
- Build install schedules for the production ramp. Close single points of failure and schedule risk, and coordinate EHS, SEMI S2/S8, and AHJ requirements
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent experience
- 6+ years semiconductor electrical tooling, tool install, or facilities-to-tool interface, including cleanroom work
- Hands-on with multiple electrical systems: tool power, grounding, cable tray, PDUs, interlocks, and/or EMO
- Experience taking tools from facilities matrix through electrical install and commissioning
- Familiarity with SMIF/FOUP automation, OHT, and electrical requirements for advanced lithography tools
- Experience with a greenfield 300mm fab
- Familiarity with SEMI S2/S8, AHJ requirements in Texas, and BIM tools (Revit, Navisworks)
