Reporting to the regional EHS manager, the Sr.EHS Specialist is responsible for influencing operations excellence, managing EHS and Security compliance, and driving overall risk reduction, aimed at driving EHS and Security excellence throughout the Automotive Sales Service Delivery operation in Taiwan.

This position will ensure world class process standards are met and sustained across Automotive SSD in the market. The position will interface with regional automotive SSD operations leadership, front-line operations staff as well as other related teams within Tesla and will drive and support continuous improvement throughout Automotive SSD. This role is the on-the-ground owner of both EHS and Security operations for Automotive SSD Taiwan.

Responsibilities

EHS

· Develop and nurture a partnership with and is a key advisor to leadership, site representatives, and front-line employees within Automotive SSD operations

· Directly or indirectly provides information and tools to allow Automotive SSD operations personnel to drive EHS and Security excellence every day

· Ensure key EHS and Security risks and compliance requirements pertaining to occupational safety and health compliance requirement, escalated and controlled in all phases of automotive product sales, delivery and service operations

· Keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization

· Collaborate with stakeholders on complex technical projects, and provide support and technical expertise on operations design and safe work procedures

· Conduct workplace inspections, participate in EHS sponsored initiatives, drive continuous improvement using tools, and support emergency preparedness and response activities

· Support life and high-potential incident investigations and create and complete key actions from investigation learnings

· Conduct and/or reviews risk assessments, job hazard analyses and provides advice on improvements

· Implement and manage contractor management program and related systems and processes

· Identify, implement, and manage vendor-led services for environmental compliance, waste management, personal protective equipment, and training etc.

· Facilitate the creation and implementation of emergency action plans for responding to emergencies

· Provide training to employees on occupational safety, health and hygiene, hazard recognition and control, injury prevention and other relevant topics

· Analyze data and report trends, recommend and support risk-reduction plans and corrective and preventive actions

· Facilitate safety committee meetings and other employee engagement initiatives

Security

· Execute company security operations standards and procedures, including security system patrols, access-control permission management, CCTV review, and abnormal-event response, ensuring compliance and consistent execution

· Independently lead investigations of cargo loss, property loss, workplace violence, and external nuisance; complete site surveys, preserve the evidence chain, write investigation reports, and drive closed-loop improvement

· Establish and optimize the security service vendor management mechanism through performance tracking and evaluation, ensuring service standards are met and issues are coordinated to closed-loop correction

· Conduct monthly service-fee review and settlement with security service vendors, ensuring costs are reasonable, controllable, and compliant with Tesla payment requirements

Requirements

· Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Security Management or similar.

· 5+ years of experience in high tech industry or similar environment. Prior experience working with high risk industry, electric vehicle related service operations preferred. Experience in physical security operations, investigations, or contracted guard-force management is a plus

· Certifications such as CSP(Certified Safety Professional) and Certified Industrial Hygienist(CIH) preferred

· Practical, hands-on site or field EHS and Security experience with the following:

o Electrical / high voltage safety

o Supporting EHS operations across multiple sites

o Workplace EHS inspections

o Establishing Safety and Health management system

o Risk assessments

o Access control, CCTV, and security system operations

o Security incident investigation (cargo/property loss, workplace violence, external nuisance) and evidence handling

o Security vendor performance management, including monthly fee review and settlement

· Experience with employee training and education activities

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills. Mandarin Chinese is required. Fluency in English is a must

· Able to influence and communicate effectively with management, EHS and Security leaders, regulators, project management staff and 3rd party suppliers

· Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and self-directed

· Well organized with meticulous attention to detail

· Proficiency with standard business software, including word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, and email communication

· Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%
