Role and Responsibilities

The Head of Corporate Communications and Citizenship serves as the senior communications and corporate citizenship leader responsible for shaping and protecting the company's reputation across all audiences and channels. This role owns the strategy, execution, and team leadership for corporate reputation, strategic public relations, brand and product communications, integrated marketing communications, internal and external corporate communications, executive visibility, risk management, and corporate citizenship. The ideal candidate is an integrated communications leader who can seamlessly connect corporate narrative with brand storytelling, product launches, cultural moments, and purposeful corporate citizenship initiatives — while partnering deeply with marketing, social, influencer, and creative teams to deliver a cohesive, compelling communications and citizenship program that reflects the company's values and commitment to communities across the US.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy and Leadership

  • Build and maintain a high-performing, diverse team of communications and corporate citizenship professionals with clearly defined roles, development pathways, and a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Establish and evolve the overarching corporate communications and citizenship strategy for the US, including master narrative, key messaging architecture, and annual communications roadmap.
  • Serve as a strategic partner and integrator across communications disciplines, working closely and collaboratively with product PR, public affairs, marketing, brand, social media, influencer, and creative teams to ensure a unified and consistent brand and corporate voice.
  • Champion integrated communications planning — ensuring corporate reputation, brand positioning, product storytelling, and citizenship initiatives work together to reinforce a single, coherent company narrative.
  • Develop and maintain fluency in brand and product communications, actively contributing to the messaging strategy for key product launches, brand campaigns, and go-to-market initiatives.
  • Manage PR agency relationships, staff, deliverables, timelines, and budget to maximize efficiency and impact.
  • Establish clear KPIs and measurement frameworks to track the effectiveness of communications and citizenship programs and demonstrate business value.

External Communications

  • Develop and execute an ambitious thought leadership program that elevates the company's profile, point of view, and influence across business, technology, and cultural conversations in the US.
  • Build and oversee a robust executive communications program encompassing media training, keynote and speaking opportunities, contributed content, awards, and executive social media presence (with particular emphasis on LinkedIn and other relevant platforms).
  • Cultivate and deepen relationships with key media, journalists, editors, analysts, and industry influencers across technology, business, consumer, and trade press.
  • Develop and enhance owned content and storytelling across channels — including the corporate newsroom, LinkedIn and executive platforms — to proactively tell the company's story on its own terms.
  • Partner closely with the social media and influencer teams to ensure corporate communications strategy is amplified across social platforms and that brand and corporate narratives are aligned and mutually reinforcing.
  • Collaborate with influencer marketing teams to identify and activate voices that authentically support corporate reputation and brand objectives.
  • Support and lead communications strategy for global and US flagship events, including major trade shows (CES, etc.), product launches, press days, charity galas, and sponsorships.
  • Monitor the competitive and cultural landscape to identify opportunities for newsjacking, thought leadership, and proactive storytelling.

Brand and Product Communications Integration

  • Develop deep familiarity with the company's product portfolio, innovation roadmap, and brand positioning to credibly represent and amplify product narratives at the corporate level.
  • Serve as a senior communications partner to product marketing teams, ensuring product launch communications are consistent with and supportive of the broader corporate narrative.
  • Identify opportunities to elevate product stories into larger corporate reputation narratives (e.g., innovation leadership, sustainability, design excellence).
  • Ensure brand voice, tone, and messaging are consistent across all corporate communications touchpoints, working closely with brand and creative teams to maintain alignment.

Corporate Citizenship

  • Lead the strategy, development, and execution of Samsung's corporate citizenship program in the US, ensuring initiatives are authentic, impactful, and aligned with the company's broader brand values and business objectives.
  • Serve as the senior leader and champion for Samsung Solve for Tomorrow — the company's flagship national STEM education program — overseeing strategy, program evolution, partnerships, communications, and measurement to maximize reach, impact, and visibility.
  • Identify opportunities to grow and innovate the Solve for Tomorrow program, including expanding partnerships with educational institutions, nonprofits, government agencies, and community organizations to deepen the program's impact across underserved communities.
  • Develop and oversee the company's broader corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy, including the identification of priority social impact areas, partnership frameworks, grant-making, and community investment programs.
  • Lead the company's community giving initiatives, including employee giving programs, volunteer engagement, and charitable sponsorships — ensuring these efforts are strategically aligned and effectively communicated internally and externally.
  • Partner with HR and People & Culture teams to develop employee engagement and volunteerism programs that strengthen company culture and deepen employees' connection to the company's citizenship mission.
  • Develop compelling storytelling and communications strategies that bring the company's citizenship work to life across owned, earned, and shared channels — ensuring these stories contribute meaningfully to corporate reputation and brand equity.
  • Collaborate with the social media, influencer, and marketing teams to amplify citizenship initiatives and engage audiences authentically around the company's social impact work.
  • Build and manage relationships with key nonprofit partners, community organizations, educational institutions, and civic leaders to advance the company's citizenship agenda.
  • Monitor trends in corporate citizenship, ESG, and social impact to ensure the company's programs remain relevant, innovative, and competitive.
  • Establish clear metrics and evaluation frameworks to measure the effectiveness and social impact of citizenship programs and report outcomes to senior leadership.

Risk Management and Issues Communications

  • Lead issues identification, communications, and resolution in close partnership with product teams, legal, government affairs, human resources, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop, maintain, and regularly test robust crisis communications processes, protocols, and playbooks, including third-party agency relationships for surge support.
  • Serve as a trusted senior counselor to executive leadership on reputational risk and communications strategy.
  • Proactively monitor emerging risks, industry trends, and the broader geopolitical and cultural landscape to anticipate and mitigate potential issues before they escalate.

Internal Communications

  • Develop and lead a compelling internal communications strategy that informs, engages, and inspires employees at all levels.
  • Partner closely with Human Resources, People & Culture, and senior leadership to align internal messaging with business strategy, organizational change, and employee experience priorities.
  • Oversee the development and deployment of new channels, tools, and technologies for internal communications — including all-hands presentations, townhalls, newsletters, intranet content, video, and leadership communications.
  • Champion a strong culture of transparent, timely, and two-way internal communications that builds employee trust, engagement, and advocacy.
  • Ensure internal and external communications are aligned so employees are informed and empowered as brand ambassadors.
  • Integrate corporate citizenship storytelling into internal communications to reinforce a sense of purpose and pride among employees.
