Description and Requirements

This role will serve as the lead legal advisor on complex, high-value, and strategic transactions within Lenovo's rapidly growing Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG), including transactions involving server, storage, cloud/cloud service provider, AI, software, networking, data center, and infrastructure solutions throughout North America. The successful candidate will structure, negotiate, and drive sophisticated commercial transactions from opportunity through execution and post-execution support, partnering closely with business leaders to facilitate implementation, manage evolving contractual issues, support customer and partner relationships, and enable continued business growth while appropriately managing legal and commercial risk.

Key Responsibilities

·   Serve as the lead attorney for complex, high-value, and strategic ISG transactions, developing transaction structures, leading negotiations, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, managing outside counsel where appropriate, and driving transactions from opportunity through execution while balancing legal risk and business objectives.

·   Provide legal support and strategic guidance for ISG transactions, initiatives, and business operations.

·   Develop a deep understanding of existing contractual commitments and obligations for ISG customers.

·   Partner closely with the ISG business across Product, Sales, Strategy, Alliances, and Business Development teams.

·   Advise the ISG business on a broad range of commercial, regulatory, data privacy, intellectual property, technology, and operational legal issues.

·   Collaborate with internal and external counsel, subject matter experts, and key business stakeholders to support business objectives.

·   Work closely with Lenovo legal teams and ISG business leaders across North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia Pacific.

·   Lead and negotiate large, complex infrastructure, cloud/cloud service provider, storage, AI, software, technology, and strategic commercial transactions.

·   Provide ongoing support following contract execution, including interpretation of contractual obligations, management of contractual disputes, negotiation of amendments and change orders, issue resolution, and support of key customer, supplier, alliance, and cloud service provider relationships.

·   Partner with the Global Contracts Team to develop and maintain contracting frameworks, playbooks, templates, and scalable transaction support processes for ISG.

·   Effectively identify legal risks and engage the appropriate legal subject matter experts across the broader Lenovo Legal Department.

·   Work efficiently to supplement internal resources across Lenovo geographies with advice from outside counsel as needed.

·   Draft and maintain standard templates supporting infrastructure offerings, software solutions, channel programs, strategic technology partnerships, and other ISG business initiatives.

·   Work with the Contracting Center of Excellence (COE) to establish and maintain a comprehensive library of infrastructure and technology templates that are easily accessible and regularly updated.

Required Qualifications

·   Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

·   12+ years of experience negotiating and leading complex technology, infrastructure, cloud, cloud service provider, storage, software, telecommunications, or strategic commercial transactions, including enterprise customer engagements and multi-jurisdictional agreements.

·   Demonstrated commercial management experience with a strong understanding of the key drivers of profitability and growth.

·   Strong contract drafting, negotiation, issue-spotting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently manage sophisticated transactions from inception through execution and post-signature support.

·   Strong knowledge of commercial contracting, intellectual property, technology licensing, data privacy, and related legal concepts.

·   Proven ability to advise senior business leaders and influence strategic decision-making in a fast-paced, global environment.

Preferred Qualifications

·   Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure, servers, storage, networking, cloud, cloud service providers, AI, software, high-performance computing, and related technology offerings.

·   Experience negotiating strategic partnerships, channel agreements, OEM arrangements, cloud ecosystem transactions, and other complex commercial agreements.

·   Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving, and growth-oriented environment.

·   Comfortable negotiating directly with sophisticated enterprise customers, strategic partners, cloud service providers, channel partners, and other third parties.

·   Strong team player who builds trusted relationships with business clients and internal stakeholders.

·   Solid project management and cross-functional leadership skills.

·   Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to balance legal risk while enabling revenue growth and business objectives.

·   High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and executive presence.

·   Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, and judgment skills.

·   Ability to anticipate, assess, mitigate, and proactively manage legal and business risks.

·   Ability and willingness to travel as business needs require.

PAY TRANSPARENCY

The anticipated annual compensation range for this position is 176,300–270,365 USD. Final compensation will be based on relevant experience, skills, and business considerations.
