Join our team at Amazon Pay as a Business Development Manager focused on core payments -banking & fintech partnerships in India. You'll conceptualize, pitch, negotiate and execute key programs with major banks, processors, networks and fintech partners directly impacting the success of various Amazon.in businesses via reducing cost. This role offers exposure to senior leaders both at Amazon and payments ecosystem. Your strategic thinking and relationship-building skills will be crucial in shaping the future of digital payments in India.

Key job responsibilities
  • Develop and manage relationships with major banks and fintechs in IN
  • Negotiate strategic projects with banking and network partners to lower cost of payments
  • Collaborate with internal teams (category, finance, marketing, operations) to align goals for Amazon businesses
  • Organize and lead top-level leadership workshops to create and implement quarterly and annual joint business plans
  • Conceptualize and pitch new strategic initiatives to senior stakeholders
  • Analyze market trends, latest developments and partnership opportunities to drive business growth
A day in the life
In this role, you'll start your day by reviewing the latest fintech industry news and updates. You might then jump into a strategy session with internal teams to align on partnership goals. Later, you could find yourself in a high-stakes negotiation with major partners, pitching a new collaborative program. Your afternoon might involve analyzing the performance of existing partnerships and brainstorming innovative ideas for future initiatives. This will require thought innovation and quick execution of the ideas

The Core payments & acceptance team at Amazon Pay is at the forefront of revolutionizing digital payments in India. We work closely with major payment industry partners like banks, networks, processors, acquirers to create seamless, merchant and customer-centric payment solutions. Our team thrives on innovation, strategic thinking, and the ability to navigate complex partnerships. We're passionate about creating payments frictionless for customers at lowest cost for merchants

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional or military experience
  • Experience structuring and negotiating complex agreements and leading cross-functional groups to orchestrate and successfully complete deals
  • Experience with sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar software
  • 8+ years of business development, partner development, sales or alliances management experience
  • MBA
  • Experience analyzing data and best practices to assess performance drivers
  • Strong communication skills which include the ability to write compelling, concise documents.
  • Proven analytical skills and ability to influence people both internally and externally

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience influencing multiple stakeholders and leading cross functional teams across geographies and business units
  • Experience working with technical and product stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize features, and influence product roadmaps
  • Experience collaborating and influencing multiple teams across multiple organizations
  • Experience working with customers, technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
  • Experience using data to influence business decisions
  • Experience negotiating complex agreements with a firm understanding of legal terminology and reasoning
