The Role:
Our site in Billerica, MA is seeking a Solutions Engineering Co-Op to join our team for the Spring 2027 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration.
As part of Entegris's LMC Solutions Engineering organization, you will work closely with applications engineers, R&D engineers, product managers, commercial teams, and manufacturing partners to help solve complex customer challenges and accelerate the adoption of Entegris technologies, while gaining a better understanding of the semiconductor industry.
In this role, you will support projects focused on understanding customer needs, evaluating product performance, generating technical insights, and developing data-driven recommendations that help bring innovative solutions to market. The position offers exposure to a broad range of functions across R&D, applications, product management, operations, and commercial teams.
This assignment provides an opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in technical problem solving, customer-focused engineering, project management, and cross-functional collaboration within a global technology organization.
What You’ll Do:
- Support Solutions Engineers on customer-focused technical projects and strategic initiatives with a heavy focus on hands on laboratory work including customer failure analyses and fundamental studies.
- Become competent in the lab, developing and conducting experiments to generate meaningful data.
- Analyze experimental, manufacturing, and customer data to identify trends and develop actionable insights.
- Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate project results and recommendations, supporting the development of technical documentation, presentations, and customer-facing materials.
- Conduct literature reviews, market research, and competitive assessments to support strategic decision making.
- Help improve internal processes, workflows, and knowledge management systems that enhance team effectiveness.
- Lead a defined workstream or project with guidance from a mentor and present findings to stakeholders at the completion of the assignment.
- Collaborate with Product Engineering, Applications, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams to support ongoing programs.
What We Seek:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work through complex technical challenges.
- Comfortable working in the laboratory environment, including wet chemistries.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Comfortable working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across different disciplines.
- Curiosity and desire to understand both the technical and business aspects of engineering solutions.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel for data analysis; familiarity with Power BI, Python, Minitab, JMP, or similar analytical tools is a plus.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take ownership of projects.
- Comfort working with ambiguity, leveraging problem solving skills to develop new solutions.
Outstanding Candidates Will:
- Prior experience in an experimental laboratory setting working with chemical and membrane media and various metrology techniques
- Prior experience/knowledge in/of the semiconductor industry
- Project or work experience with design of experiments and analysis
Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year:
- Student graduating 2030 or earlier (ideally current sophomore or further, open to graduate students as well)
- Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Other related technical disciplines
Eligibility:
- Must be a currently enrolled student
- Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in January through June
- Must be familiar with the university’s requirements to participate in a co-op program

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Primarily office and laboratory environment.
- Ability to move between office, laboratory, and manufacturing environments as needed, staying on feet most of the day if needed.
- Use of laboratory PPE and adherence to site safety requirements.
- Ability to lift and handle filter samples and chemical containers <= 25lbs.
